Well if truth be told that was a pretty sh*t punting day, no hiding from that. Think I loaned around 9 points back to the bookies across my tips and TTP stats picks. Those days are common when you are generally betting on 8/1+ , 10/1+ shots, but they are not very enjoyable. That is the value game and it is the only way I will win long term. And that is why you have to enjoy the good days/hot streaks.
The Scottish National – a strange old race. None of the selections ran that well although Trustan Times and Another Hero gave hope until they turned for home. Another Hero- runs as if he has a nice race in him, maybe the 3m3f G3 at Cheltenham in Autumn – he travelled very well to my eye, jumping well. But, when the button was pushed up the home straight there wasn’t much there. Maybe he just didn’t stay. One to keep an eye on given his profile. Vicente- well I can live with him beating me at 10s- even if I ignored the odd stats I think I would have concluded that was short enough for one who can hit a fence but given his win in this last year I can see why some were keen. He came here fresh having fallen at the 1st in The Grand National. A superb ride by STD. Cogry- it was bitter sweet watching him. I wanted the horse to do well, but I would have been sick if he won. I tipped him in his last race, only a few days ago, where he ran ok in second. I thought his jumping wouldn’t hold on the pace they may go on this ground. In the end he jumped well on the whole, and travelled comfortably on the front end. Maybe he is only now getting his act together over fences. Hope will be renewed that he can win a big one! (I am never destined to get him right over fences)

Won’t be much on Punchy no. I don’t really follow Irish racing. As per members post there will be a few trainer angles etc to use as you please. Going to have a dig in horse race base tomorrow. May be odd trends shortlist. Won’t be any ‘tipping’ I don’t think. We’ll see.
