Hmm, positives and a few negatives to ponder while re-reading my write ups. Nearly, but not quite. Positives of being close to Captain Tommy and Brahma Bull (esp the former, that was frustrating) negatives of failing to pull the trigger on them and ultimately picking horses who may still be running, inc a couple who just lacked the class to keep tabs. One of those periods and while such decisions/close calls/wrong calls will always part of the game, I’d like to get a few more right. Hopefully by specialising from now on I will. We move on.

I’m going to take Sunday off, back first thing Monday. GL with any bets.

  2. A 10/3 winner with Lazuli on saturday. Master Of The Seas was beaten on the nod in the Guineas. 9/1 in to 11/2, so an OK place return. Tronador was a loser.

    On Sunday at Newmarket:
3.00, Indie Angel – has had a seasonal pipe opener, Trainer in form, has won in this class and at the course. 11/1 now, 1 point each way.
3.40, Alcohol Free – 3 from 4 on turf,Jockey good on this course, has won in this class and on the course, draw OK. 3/1 now, 2 points win.

    Good Luck Martin

  3. Will keep posting so long as free to air as my winter membership expired…will wait to see the T’s and C’s before making any decisions re the Summer Jumps offers and how that relates to the flat as you all know that is my primary interest…………..24.67 pts going forwards so will continue with the 2yo analysis as long as possible…

Two races today that are good quality C3 events though low on numbers ….13.00 Salisbury originally 12 declared now down to 5 and 16.15 Nmkt. 11 originally now down to the sad seven so no e/w value in either but still worthy of interest because of the pedigrees on display:

13.00. Salisbury split stakes .50 pts win only Banner Moonshine and .50 pts Vaunted.
Based on overall pedigrees and in the case of Banner Moonshine more speculative as the trainer has won this race 4 times in the past and has a 3/3 with progeny bloodline and overall the best AEI…the downside is the dam is 0/8 …has been clipped in from 9/1 last night to 13/2 but still a bet at that price win only.
Vaunted, as the second fav achieved a better adjusted time than Out In Yorkshire running 5.045 f. in 61.453 as opposed to Out In Yorkshire’s time of 63.23 over the same adjusted distance of 5f…..My average for a C4 is 60.37 so they have to improve to get competitive in this 2 class jump in grade so, even though both have run good races, having the advantage of experience which is a big plus. Mirique., ran in a C4 5f race at Kempton clocking 62.418 secs in an adjusted time against Vaunted and ran a respectable race aand only stepping up one class so at 28/1 may well outrun those odds but will take the new comer Banner Moonshine to beat those that have run as has the best overall pedigree in my opinion.

16.15 Salisbury……now there are only 5 runners and the prices are contracted so no selection…….I like three, Secret Strength. foaled April 11th. My Dubawi, foaled 18th April and War of Courage , foaled April 3rd….of those that have run War of Courage achieved the better time running 60.69 secs over 5f in a C2 at Ascot which was faster than Berkshire Phoenix ran in C5 at Bath of 61.15 so has the edge and is a better price. …..Secret Strength is by a trainer that has won this race in 2019 so is respected and has the best AEI, though I could not find the stats for My Dubawi for a direct comparison…..the dam of the latter is2/9 overall whereas the dam of Secret Strength is 0/19 overall….watching brief on this one though…..

    1. No joy…..Silver Bullet Lady did everything wrong and still won so impressed with the run…my selections did not cover themselves in glory – 1pt….23.47 pts going forwards….

  4. Hi Josh,

What’s happening with current £30 subscription charges over the next few months, until the jumps proper return?

Is it back to the tenner a month now?

    1. Hi Shane,
I haven’t decided yet but as of yesterday all payments/subs have stopped, no further payments will be taken for those on monthlies. Everyone will have to so up again.
It is highly likely that the 29.99 per month will remain forever more, and that ‘season tickets’ etc will be cheaper than the monthly Times x months equivalent. With the summer ticket a bit cheaper than winter. And then come mid Oct/Nov they’ll be an annual option, depending on how the summer goes and whether that 12 month is desirable etc.
There will be options, in effect the longer you commit the cheaper it will work out. But I’ll finalise that at some point next week as some pondering to do to ensure its fair /balance is correct etc.
