The Flat 2020

(143 tips/19 wins/50 places (inc wins) /+57.6 points, advised/ +52.9 Betfair SP)

None from me today. Some ‘Perth Pointers’ below but before that, another guest tip from Gary at ABW, i’m sure he won’t mind… for those on level stakes they’re all generally 1 point EW (now around +74 points profit)…those on the £1k to £10k seasonal challenge (betting 1.25% of bank EW, so first bet was £12.50 EW) – its currently over a 44% win/place rate and the bank is £2219.43 (+£1219.43 profit so far) with an ROI of over 34% and current stakes £27.74 EW

1.00 Lingfield – Ashazuri

“A sole tracker out here with ASHAZURI who goes well on turning tracks like this, Brighton & Epsom and Jonathan Portman’s charge has a very good strike rate when down around the 70 mark.

With 6 wins/13 places on the turf is always noteworthy EW value.

On her penultimate appearance, it was a solid run at Salisbury when finishing behind Awesomedude, who again followed up at York yesterday. LTO at Windsor, up in class, was hampered 2 out but still ran on for a distant 3rd behind Handyman who also followed up with a solid 2nd NTO

Tyler Saunders is up top who is another decent looking apprentice who has gone well over the last year.

She likes to get on with things near the front and dropped back into a C5 with no progressive 3yo’s to upset the apple cart around our operating prices”

Note: the odd strange things is happening on the site after my phase 1 back end changes, especially what appears on the home page, esp the ‘comments’ info – to see any comments etc you’re best clicking said post to see if any are there, as on home page its said ‘0’ a few times, when in fact there’s plenty. If you’re within a post and refresh as you’d normally do, everything should be as normal, hopefully.

Perth Pointers

I was flicking through a few Geegeez reports to try and find something of interest on a fairly quiet Monday (don’t forget you can register for free and get free access to various daily tools etc, HERE>>>) … the below are to use however you please. I haven’t looked at the form/horses/races etc, i’ll leave that to you 🙂 …

Lucinda Russell / Stephen Mulqueen are 3/12,6p, +11.5 SP (+16 EW) in Perth handicaps in the last 365 days.

In the last 30 days when teaming up they’re 4/13, 5p (2/6 last 14 days). He seems to ride the track well enough, 4/16, 8p +23 with all rides here in the last year.

They’re some solid enough ‘foundation’ stats and Lucinda’s appear to be going well enough. They team up with x3 today which may or may not be worth a closer look…

2.40 – Dr Hooves / 4.15 – Touchedbyanangel / 4.50 – Caboy

Whatever they do today it may be worth keeping an eye on that TJC around here. Their record together at Perth is much better (although small numbers) than when using Derek Fox and Blair Campbell, although having just said that we know what happens now!

Anyway, do with all that as you please.

  1. No joy on Saturday -0/2.

Two win bets from Perth on Monday:

3.10, Heavey – has won in this class, won at this course, won at this distance. 2 points win.

4.50, Craigmor – 3 out of 5 in chases, won in this class, won at this distance. 2 points win.

    Good luck Martin

  2. Today’s racing requires a changed approach:
    WIN bets:
    300 Al Mansoura
    325 Double Up
    340 Oleg
    425 Tis Marvellous
    435 The Warrior
    445 Coup de Pinceau
    630 Lockdown Dream
    EW bets
    100 Toro Dorado
    150 Inner Circle
    240 Calle Malva
    320 Presidential
    415 Raymond
    430 Free Love
I know this many bets will appear absurd to readers, so I suggest concentrating on the win bets where some value can be found – and, even some EW bets!
I have discarded some other bets from a longer list of choices, in an effort to appear sane.

    1. Nothing wrong with having 12 bets a day at all . As long as they’re not all short in the betting and you’re hitting over 15% winners you’re giving yourself a good chance of winning. Your A/E will give you a great idea of where you are with it all. The odd biggie should pop up now and again but I would stay away from each way betting regardless of price or you’ll lose in the long run with that volume of bets. Just take it on the chin if your 20/1 shot comes second and move on. Good luck. Keep on betting it’s only numbers!!

  3. Interesting to see Ashazuri tipped.
    Trainer comment from Lambourn Trainers:
Ashazuri has been running well of late and is hopefully not far away from scoring that first win of the year.

    1. Ah, good to hear Andy. I did think she looked solid when looking through – if she repeated that Salisbury run two starts back she should be going close. Not sure she enjoyed proper Soft LTO but still an ok run. Mark is in range now, and races prominently. She went out to 10s/11s for a time, fingers crossed she runs her race. Should be thereabouts if she does.

  4. £21 up Saturday, £6 down yesterday, not much of interest today of my own. have had £2 win @ bfsp on 3 at Perth.
    3-40. Royal Village
    4-15. Touchedbyanangel
(unless they get matched at silly prices)
and i’ve stuck the guest tip in a ew L15 with:
    3-40. Cracking Destiny
    4-30. Diligent Lady
    5-00. Sophie B
    £9 staked

  5. Yesterday’s c3+ had 2 winners and 3 places.
Today’s two c3+ races at Leicester.
    15:20 irreverent / Eaton college / sansevero
16:25 Al raya / tis marvelous

As always good luck today 🙂

      1. You say ‘the list’ Warren, really you mean your replay watching eyes!! 🙂 (and then whatever other sifting you do to form the list) They’re generally very good at highlighting winners etc, top work.
