The Flat 2020

(135 tips/18 wins/46 places (inc wins) /+60.6 points, advised/ +53.81 Betfair SP)

None on Monday, i’ll take the Bank holiday off, esp given my current run and I am visiting family. Enough winners in the content (although generally a poor month in general, and i’ll post a results update on Tues/Wed) but i’ve been mediocre at landing on them/judging ‘value’, but that’s the game. Plenty of placed horses which is always a frustrating positive – the tipping month started on +71 or so, and -11 in a month isn’t an issue but from a high of around +85, there’s work to do, although the ROI is more than solid.  Maybe it will soon be time to get back into jumps mode. The ‘Monthly Trainers’ will return on Tuesday with any qualifiers from the NTD and Lavelle angles posted. I do need to decide when to stop posting flat ‘qualifiers’ but they’ll be posted in September and maybe up to Chepstow’s first jumps meeting.  I’ll do any ‘Micro Monday’ post on Tuesday – the odd request for a look at Gary Moore to see if anything of interest, and maybe Tony Carrol. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  • An early treat for sand lovers today at Southwell.Taking my bucket and spade hoping to dig up more than a broken bottle.Lots of course specialists out today like Red Stripes,Zylan,Atlanta Queen that are decent prices but I am going for one that has yet to prove effective here.

    4.25 Mackelly 8-10/1
A horse with poor turf form. The trainer is 7/17 with 3yo here las 3 seasons,5 have hit the woodwork.might just show improved form on the surface

    • I backed Artillery on pedigree potential both for stamina and for dirt. Andrew Breslin a top claimer.

      • Yes,should really stick to the winter jumps and aw.Its always a risk that a horse won’t take to the sand, but with trainers record here justified taking the risk that he might at the price

  • yesterdays c3+ list had disappointingly 1 winner and 1 place
my pick was a non runner.
    todays c3+ video replay list
    13:20 hortzadar / crownthorpe / danyah
13:50 albadri / internationaldream / the flying ginger
14:20 hats off to larry / gamesters icon / poets dawn
    14:40 young tiger / doc sportello / dark shot (yes i know)……..
    15:35 tinto / arecibo
    18:25 moomba / cardano

    my picks
TINTO 6/1 (3:35 sandown) acts on pretty much any going and can show a good turn of speed. with the highly reduced field today and a few known front runners if he can stay in touch at the beginning there might be a pace collapse towards the business end which could play into his hands i certainly dont think he is the outsider of the field.

    as always good luck 🙂
