New Micro Monday Post: Nigel Twiston-Davies… READ REPORT HERE>>>

York... just a re-cap on how the stats report performed – my attempt at using them as a ‘way in/starting point’ was clearly sub standard… but pleasing for the approach at least and with any luck some of you used them to good effect…

So, the trainers… surprisingly William Haggas let the team down somewhat…

  • Haggas: 0/13,4p, -13 (double the runners he’d usually have historically)
  • Dods: 1/2,1p, +7 (morn odds) +11 BFSP
  • Charlie A: 2/4,2p +1
  • T Easterby: 0/2, 0p, -2

The trainer/jockey combos did well, especially on Saturday…

  • 8 bets / 2 wins / 4p / +26 (morn odds) / +19 BFSP

HorseRaceBase… those stats qualifiers that were top 4 HRB ratings (H1/H2/H3/H4) were… 2/6, 3p, +20 points.

‘Big Race Pointers’… they did so so… 9 handicaps through the week either with some ‘trends’ pointers and/or ‘trainer race record’ pointers… the winner listed somewhere in 3 of them… Summer Moon/ Montatham / Fujaira Prince/

The less said abut my use of them the better, although plenty ran well enough. I should have just focused on the TJCs or ‘H’ horses! Although always easy with hindsight, but pleasing they did well, as if the content highlights winners it’s always a positive moving forwards. Time allowing i’ll see if I can find any York ‘eye-catchers’ or potential hot-form, although not much is missed from weeks like that.

  1. A 5/1 winner on Monday and a loser, so a good start to the week.

    Two at Bangor on Tuesday:

1.00, Irish Prophecy – up in distance here, trainer in decent form, won in this class. 2 points win.

3.35, Centreofexcellence – trainer in form, won in this class, course winner, distance winner. 1 point each way.

    Good luck Martin

  3. yesterdays through the cards list had 8 winners and 11 places.
my pick ran to its price wasnt good enough.
todays through the card as there are no c3+ races.
12:50 love baileys / blind begger / ey up its maggie
13:25 red dragoness / cormier / card high
13:55 theatro / stag horn / chief craftsman
14:25 star citizen / jewel maker / seas of elzaam
14:55 golden hind / deft / touch of luck
    15:25 ashington / buriram / dr rio
16:00 newscaster / with thanks / roong roong
    16:35 zip / pary’s mountain / canfords joy
17:05 be bold / vivacious spirit / chocoholic
    17:35 lagenda / imperial focus / eldelbar
    my picks
STAR CITIZEN 12/1 (2:25) all the best form on softer surfaces. kevin stott on board today who has won with him. not the most consistent of runners but we dont need him to be, just today thats all that is needed. nice draw in the middle of the track . looks like he just likes to sit off the pace and track and there is a clear front runner in here to help him along.
DR RIO 25/1 E/W (3:25) speculative one this but another thats been brought over from France and i dont think the faster ground his to his liking. on the slower stuff in France he had some nice results. first time today is a ground that is more suitable to his talents. there are a few in here with decent form so he is up against it but he might just sneak a place and end up better value than the winner.

    over in ireland
    1:15 erzindjan
    3:50 awaasef
    4:20 scorpion black
    12:30 get in robin
    2:35 joly maker

a few observations RED DRAGONESS (1:250 stott runner with soft ground bumper form could be a nice e/w, GOLDEN HIND (4:00) dropping back in class a shorty but may be hard to beat today, ZIP (4:35) solid soft form and looks to have a great chance. PARY’S MOUNTAIN could be the danger, david allen prefers or was told to ride rux rux but sullivan has a better strike rate at this meeting when riding for easterby, has soft form also. last but not least ELDELBAR (5:35) drop back in to 7f today. if he gets out in front gonna be hard to peg back.

hopefully there is a winner there somewhere that someone who is better than me at narrowing it down ( my biggest weakness) can spot
as always good luck and yarmouth will follow shortly. 🙂

  4. yarmouth through the card
    15:20 ajrad / side shot
15:55 flirty rascal / the circus / series of dreams
16:25 mary cassatt / top flight / better by far
17:00 roman spinner / molly mai / ginger max
17:30 lincoln gamble / native silver / proclaimer
18:00 aiguillette / champagne bob / deeds not words
    18:30 mostly / jaariyah / areehaa
19:00 temwin / lauentia / act of magic
19:30 farewell kiss / pull harder con / abbaleka

observations. anything JOHN GOSDEN side shot, the circus, mostly, needs to be considered carefully with jockey on board, 42% strike rate. TEMUJIN (7:00) looks to have a good e/w chance. FAREWELL KISS in the last race could spring an upset and is a nice e/w price to go close or one better

  5. What a great result for Derby County all charges dismissed, never any other outcome, now lets hope they sue the ELF for which Simon Jordan said months ago on Talk Sport take them to the cleaners Mel (owner )
January charged and found guilty in advance by EFL for they put the club on a soft transfer embargo, they then decided to say Pride Park was over valued at £80 million they then had the audacity to have there own valuer, value the ground lower than 2007 value.
High standing valuers who are on the New York stock exchanged valued the club when the americans bought the club same valuers, valued the ground when Mel Morris bought the club, for the third time the same valuers valued the ground at £80 million last year, much more EFL have got wrong and this sad saga as been draging on for far to long and the fans have suffered 8 months of hell alongside the club.
    One happy Rams fan
