The Flat 2020
(101 tips/16 wins/34 places (inc wins) /+81.35 points, advised/+73.85 Betfair SP)
None on Monday, I haven’t looked at any of today’s content for tipping purposes and will be taking the day off from all things ‘horse’. A decent weekend for Trainer Profiles quals (+20 points or so) and ‘H’ horses (in sections 2/3) +8 or so, to keep those ticking along for the season to date.
2.Trainer Profiles 2020: The Flat

7.00 Chest – Desert Icon (7/1< guide) H1 UP
3.Other Micro Angles
None.
4.Horses to Follow
Losing Tips
6.30 Chest – Angel Alexander (2nd run since tipped) UP
7.00 Chest – Palavecino (1st run) WON 7/1 > 10/3
Hot-Form
4.00 Leic – Sorrel (2nd run) H4 WON 1/4
5.Other/Updates
‘Micro Monday’ post will follow at some point Tuesday afternoon, with a look at Kevin Stott, if I can find anything of interest/use. The Mitchell/ Crowley angles have highlighted plenty of winners in Section 3 so with any luck there’s some profitable angles between now and the end of the season.

A 4/1 winner on Saturday, a 13/2 place and a loser, so OK.
On Monday – 2 picks.
3.45 Southwell, Purple King – a decent seasonal debut, a winner in this class, STD on board. 1 point each way.
6.30 Chester, Angel Alexander – a course winner, cheekpieces on for the first time, likes to go from the front, draw is OK. 1 point each way.
Good luck Martin
Early thoughts on Southwell card.
After a 3.35pt profit yesterday i’m having another go
1-15. Pride of Parish up 4lb for win lto but lightly raced and that was his chasing debut, has won a hunter chase before that. Should be enough of an improvement to come to have at least an ew chance.
2-15. The Flying Portrait is the outsider of 7, hasn’t run since November but can run well fresh, with a career 10/40 6 in this class or better and 6 at the distance and gets ideal going, i just can’t leave him alone if a big price.
3-15. Pink Sheets, won a NH Flat and was highly tried in that sphere running in 2 C1 listed but to no avail. A front runner and was leading on her novice hurdle debut when hitting the 6th and never really got back into it, worth another go with that experience behind her.
3-45. Northern Bound, i found this a bit strange won a maiden hurdle over 16f and was then run 3 times over 20/21f never getting home. Back down to 16f and gets in off 106.
4-15. What the **** is Fort Gabriel doing in this C4 3m novice hurdle, winner of 6 chases all at C4 and 3 at this distance, David Bridgewater has Poppy on board and yes it’s probably just a lung opener but could well win this without trying.
4-45. Pierlow, well it wouldn’t be me if i didn’t throw one in from left field, hasn’t won a race in 5 years but is lightly raced for an 11yo and races off a career low of 79 last win was off 89, but with only top weight Double Court coming anywhere near being a selection thought i would mention this one.
5-20. Hurricane Rita is another who’s mark has fallen far enough to spark my interest, back hurdling after chasing for a while winning 2/15
do what you like with these ramblings
A useful digest.
345 If Northern Bound reverts to front running then maybe that will make the difference.
445 I think this is the weakest race that Land League has run in and he won his maiden fto two seasons ago.
520 I am going to follow Etat Major Aulmes until beaten.
nothing anywhere today i really want to have a go at so just a few fun bets on those mentioned above,
1-15. Pride of Parish £2 ew @7-1
2-15. The Flying Portrait £2 win @bfsp or 26.0 if matched
3-15. Pink Sheets £1 ew @14-1
3-45. Northern Bound £2 ew @13-2
4-15. Fort Gabriel £2 win @bfsp or 7.8
4-45. Double Court £1 ew @ 15-2, Pierlow £1 ew @40-1
5-20. Hurricane Rita £1 ew @28-1
well that’s all the bets paid for 🙂
Nice tip and a drift too!
Cheers,
not bad staked £20 returns £47 🙂

my picks
WILLINGLY E/W speculative one here. from last run looked as if further was needed. trainer has had a few nice priced winners lately and a good jockey booked.
GALLIPOLI recent good front running performance and an advantageous draw today hopefully should see him up there today
i dont think the race went to plan last time out. only 1lb higher than last winning mark and has won off a higher mark in the past.
ANGEL ALEXANDER E/W not shown any of the form that won him the ayr gold cup last year but has run well and won around here in the past. cheeckpieces fitted today hoping to spark a good run. on his best would be at the top of the market. he is only a 4yr old
so i dint think all hope is lost.
as always good luck everyone. 🙂
4-1 winner and a 40-1 3rd, nice one Warren
Thanks Martin I was surprised gallipoli’s price came in. But the 40-1 place payed better than the winner or second. It don’t happen often but it’s nice to get one over the bookies on price. 🙂
