(96 tips/15 wins/32 places (inc wins) /+77.6 points, advised/+71.75 Betfair SP)
#1 – 4.35 Ling – Swiss Pride – 1 point win – 15/2 (WH/Uni) 7/1 (SkyB /BV)
That’s all for today, as of 08.54
A rare trip to the all-weather but i’ve got to have a go at this one given he’s back here. I threw a dart at a big price LTO where he probably over-raced although he’s much better on the sand, 2/4 over this CD (2/5,3p at the track), 4 wins on the AW in total, now 0/12 on turf. This is just his 5th start for excellent Roger Teal and the jockey has placed on him. He went into the notebook after that run two starts back, in a claimer. He ran the final 3f quicker than the winner, rated 80, and came home with a rattle. Sadly for connections his starting position was too far back/he took a while to get going. Had he started his run from closer to the eventual winner he’d have won. As simple as that. There’s no 80 horse in this handicap today and while he’s yet to win outside of plating company, he’s only had 3 goes for Teal, and one of those was a 2L 6th around here, in a C4. In recent AW runs he’s consistently posted RPRs higher than this mark. He does need some luck as he won’t be on the pace, but there’s some speed on paper in this. I thought 7s or so looked worth a go to see if he can back up that claimer effort. If he does, he should be bang there in this line up. Maybe i’d have preferred to see him over 7f still, but then he can be buzzy and maybe the pace of a 6f race will help him drop his head. All his wins are over 6f but he will need them to go hard up front. So, some questions, but worth a go for me, in what seems an open enough race. He should be 9/2 or so in this line up I thought and he did travel well for a long way LTO, as if he’s in some sort of form.

Really Super... those of you who look a couple of days ahead may have noted her entry at Stratford on Thursday. I’ve yet to look at the race in depth but only 7 runners, many of whom she beat LTO. Sadly I doubt she will be 25/1 this time! Likely Fav i’d have thought but it’s a decent pot, 9.5k to winning connections. We shall see if she can bolt up again. She’s in the form of her life at home and really appears to have progressed aged 6, mentally and physically. This mark wouldn’t have stopped her last time. I’ll dream of Jack looking around for dangers after the last!
I do hope that 48 decs for Jumps remain forever more.
What else… ah, yes, i’m yet to look at the 2.40 Ayr in any depth… but the race is sponsored by Jordan Electrics, and I assume it’s their horse in the race, aptly named Jordan Electrics. Whether he’s up against it I don’t know but a timely reminder to always absorb the race name and to see if the sponsors have a runner. Looking at the current going/forecast it could be a swamp up there come race time.

220NA Fukuto
Down 35lb and has his first run in quick conditions on chasing debut. Has struggled in the French mud so hoping that Bridgy has got him ready.
Obviously you need to say the name with an accent :).
There’s no need for that. Totally unprovoked. 🙂
10 hours passed and no one commented!?
i don’t see what the problem is ….. it must be a town in japan ? what else can it mean ??
LGb ….. obvlious ? 😉
It means ‘thread’ in Swahili, I was told…
…and good fortune in japanese…
No bet on Tuesday.
Wednesday picks:
2.50 Newton Abbot, Parody – trainer and jockey in form, course and distance winner. 2 points win.
4.35 Lingfield, Swiss Pride – I too landed on this one in this weak race. Course and distance winner, back on the all weather now, 5LB claimer takes weight off, fast on his day. 1 point each way.
Good luck Martin
Hi all, does anyone know if you have a paid for subscription for timeform can you find out the bfsp on the greyhounds results?
Thanks in advance
Ian
I can see them without a sub, https://www.timeform.com/greyhound-racing/results/central-park/1046/20200803/801465
I can now Rob, weird.
Thanks anyway.
I read on GeeGeez that Ayr has extremely good drainage throughout the NH and flat courses
Ah interesting to know Brian – for some reason in my head I always think when its testing, it looks very testing. Although do believe they upgraded drainage etc in last couple of years – as i write it doesn’t appear to have gone bog like but more rain could fall this afternoon. Be interesting to see how it rides.
No c3+ races today. So a nice day off to recharge the racing eyes.
Good luck of your having a flutter. 🙂
just got back in, what happened at Ayr thunderstorms?
It`s the apocalypse Martin….pestilence is next, what exactly is pestilence, sounds like a breakfast cereal from the 1970`s, come on kids, get up, its a bowl of pestilence waiting downstairs for you!! Left you with that warm glow all over…..wait, that was Ready Brek wasn`t it…
I don’t think ready brek was pestilence Stewart more like radioactive with that glow.
Funny you should say that, we used to call it a bowl of Chernobyl back in the day…haha
Let`s hope Really Super puts in a stellar run before that happens, 7/2 tissue, got to be happy with that Josh?
I’m still surprised. Yet to wade in haha. Although obv the betting etc is only ever a pleasant cherry on top. 10/3+ would be silly really. She’s the best chase form in that race, track should suit, couple front runners to track. And she’s in best form of her life at home. Is her first run there though, but track should suit and 1m2f round like Market Rasen. She should be clear fav. She should beat the summer plate horses again. That run is much better than what Newlands has done and Nicholls horse can be too keen and needs delivering late etc. He’s talented on his day though. Even with my non biased eyes. Surely she’s sent off 5/2, 2s.
I would have said that and the market is daft 7/2 with Sky and VC, might have a wade in myself…
