A busy few days…

Really Super… runs in the 1.20 Warwick and i’ll be making my way down to watch her with a fair few others, before heading onto Cheltenham for Friday’s racing, and then down to London on Saturday for some World Champs Darts on the Sunday. As always you won’t notice much difference on here/i’ll try and keep any ‘disruption’ to a minimum. I will be attacking any 3m+ chases as normal. Friday’s post will likely be up later Thursday evening, and Saturday’s later on Friday. Sunday’s content is likely to be up Sunday morning, Monday’s first thing Monday morning.

To the horse…  well we will keep everything crossed that she finishes in the top 3 as that will get her some ‘black-type’ and increase her value down the line. We considered running at Aintree in the mares race that was moved from Carlisle and I suspect she’d have finished 2nd or 3rd there, but sadly she’d had some medication (regular/stop her tying up behind which can happen with mares- equiv of cramp I think) that wouldn’t have been out of her system in time. So, we couldn’t run, even if we wanted. So, Warwick it is, in a warm looking race…

We will be aggressive again but she may not be the only one wanting to lead. She doesn’t have to. Obviously she’s plenty to find on ratings with most of them and it will be tough – but she jumps, stays and the ground should be ok. Hopefully she can get in a rhythm around there but it can be a tricky course for a novice.  If it goes proper soft that will pose an unknown.  It’s a deep race and I’d personally be mildly surprised if she won, but it won’t be for the want of trying and the whole point of our syndicate is to have some fun and shoot high when we can. We still don’t know her ceiling and if she runs her race, this will tell us plenty more about her level. (certainly in context of Mares races) Fingers crossed for a big run and that i’m left surprised! It wouldn’t be the first time.

1.55 Warwick…

Innisfree Lad… based on his unexposed profile, general level of form and that run LTO I thought he’d be entitled to be a couple of points shorter in this line up.

The Dennis yard has been under a cloud for an age I think but he had a winner a few days ago and plenty have been running well, including this one LTO. They could be a yard to watch as I suspect they’ve had health issue and there could be some well handicapped ones.

This horse hacked up over hurdles under D Bass in Dec 17 and its the first time he’s jumped on since. The trainer won this race with Cyclop in 2015 and this horse is closely related to him. He will appreciate this extra furlong and he won’t mind any rain that falls either. I thought he generally jumped well LTO and it was a decent run. He responded to pressure and stuck his head down. That was his second start after a break of 500+ days and with any luck he can build on it here.

Of the rest… Court Master won LTO but now steps up in trip by 1/2 a mile and i’m not sure as to the level of that form. But he is a point winner and he jumped well – so clearly a big danger, but he does have stamina to prove under rules- very different to points although a point win is clearly more a pos than a neg on that front. I wanted to take him on at 9/4.

The potential biggest danger/other most interesting one? >>>

Book of Gold is interesting and he’s the other I looked at – he does just have a few too many questions now, inc over fences – he’s a 15 race maiden and seemingly frustrating his trainer- BUT he has some solid hurdles placed form from marks in the 120s, against good horses – IF he ever recaptured that/they find the key, he should decimate a mark of 107. So, he’s one to watch, but hopefully not today! 8s/9s or so was one of those tricky ones. Had that run LTO been over fences etc it may have given me more to ponder. He was poor when last seen chasing and needs more. But the yard are in flying form and he could run a big race.

I could leave the rest – those were three interesting ones to me. Dentley De Mee has a few too many questions building now, for a 7s shot. In theory he should have a race like this in him.

Global Dream and Tikk Tock Boom have fitness questions/unknowns. Shanroe needs more and the yard are cold – 0/24,5p last 14 days, 1/44, 7p the last 30. Western Climate is open to attack from younger legs, those moving up the ratings scale rather than falling marks, like his. But if he built on that run LTO he’d be in the shake up. But i’m siding with younger legs/open to improvement.

So, fingers crossed he runs a big race, with an eye on Sherwoods for the future. Bass may be more aggressive – there’s no real front runners in this as such.

    1. My darts keep missing the board sadly haha and the ones I cross off last/deliberate between seem to be winning well. Ah Book of Gold, topping off a mediocre afternoon. The tough times continue sadly.

  5. Only jumps races that could provide a tip are the 1.10 & the 1.55. Got a couple of AW for later tonight. So back at 12.50 for the first.
