It’s fast approaching that time of year when Venetia is usually profitable to back systematically. This angle, or slight variations of it, has been a mainstay on the blog for a few years now and with any luck will continue to be profitable…

You’ll notice a drop off last year from the years before in terms of numbers of runners/winners, and certainly from the height of 2014. I don’t think Venetia will have changed her approach (albeit always possible) however there may be logical reasons for the current state of play… the ground may not have been soft enough both for serious grass work at home or how she likes to turn them out in (so horses taking longer to get fit) and/or not soft enough on track. Maybe she doesn’t have the horses anymore, and her stable no.1 Charlie D has taken some time to settle in.
It could well be this approach is in it’s last year or two, but time will tell. We can hope for a repeat of 2014/15!
