  1. Had to look out the window this morning to make sure it wasn’t December when I saw there is AW racing at Southwell. There is no Krl Burke representative there today but the second most prolific double act of Fell and Curtis are.
The horses I like to back here are seemingly out of form horses with winning form here and horses or ones yet to run on surface.
From his quartet at the prices the ones to appeal are
    4.10 Miss Ranger 14/1
    5.20 So Hi Cardi 16/1
Zylan is an obvious contender but not at the 7/2

All you need is 1 or 2 to come in over a season to make a nice profit

1.50 Southwell Bee Machine BOG 12/1
4.20 Chepstow Captain Sedgwick BOG 7/1

  3. Lambourn
    Charles Hills
on early today and he has two good chances
2.45 Ripon Fragant Dawn BOG 4/1
3.45 Chepstow Fantasy Believer BOG 8/1
others not put their views up yet will update later

  4. Morning,

Quickly get these out and will try write ups later on, lot of DIY today.

    16:25 Cartmel
OLD SALT 1pt win 5/1 gen
    DOUBLE TREASURE 1pt win 7/2 (4/1 888sport) should drift.

    17:10 Downpatrick
    WISHMOOR 1/2 pt e/w 20/1 gen
    MUROOR 1pt win 10/1 365

hopefully write ups later. if not good luck with whatever your selections are today and hope all jockeys and horses come back safe and sound.

    1. OLD SALT
Henry Brooke is as good a jockey at this course as any of them , the horse has already won at Cartmel over the distance and if allowed to sit just off the pace, having won 3 out of his last 5 he should go close today. His old trainer said he took an age to get going speed wise, but, looks like the tongue strap is putting air into this ones lungs and the visor on today should sharpen him up again despite a 7lb hike in the weights.
This one is a worthy favourite, dropping down the weights and connections i believe may have found the right one for him here, he will either bowl them all into submission, or, finish out the back of the tv. I was hoping there would be more runners here, because it may become a war of attrition, which will play into Old Salts hands, we shall have to see, which is why i have dutched this fella in, price may be short, but, i had him in at 2/1 so, like Ballyoisin the other day i have dutched the favourite in (although in no way shape or form is DT in the same league as Ballyoisin).
He used to be one of my favourite horses and i do think he is becoming a bit of an enigma, can only assume Mr O`Brien had this as a back up for him after pulling along Megalomaniac in his last race, he showed a glimmer of hope LTO and this shorter distance married with the fact that J O`Brien does really well with horses that have “Quirky” personalities, Edwulf and Ivanovich Gorbatov to name but two who he has managed to win with after them falling buy the wayside, know there are a few more, but, they are the ones i know of at decent prices. 20/1 is far too big for a horse who could just sneak into a place and I`m going against my principles and go each way as i feel he may just get tapped for toe over the last fence, hoping he doesn`t and wins by five lengths, but, we shall see??
Now, this one knows his way round this track, he is a bit of a baby, but, likes these undulations, so, will have the upper hand over most of these when it comes to the fences, although he has only won over the hurdles, the fences come on up and down parts of the track and the last two are jumped in quick succession followed by a long run in, another quirky Irish course and you have to be clever to win here, the two i have picked are, the favourite i will lay all day long, i had him in at 8/1, so that 5/2 /15/8 in a place is laughable…. All about opinions and i may be wrong, but, Canadian Steel, who has also only won over hurdles here is 5 pts shorter than Muroor??? My value alarm is on overload with that!

    2. Well done Stewart, that was a fun 10 mins what with a 8/1 jumps s3a# winner. And Colin with another Elite. All ticking along just fine at the moment. 🙂 keep up the good work.

      1. Thanks Josh and James, first two run poor, Wishmoor had one of his no going days and this one won cleverly….It`s all about the long game and keeping your iron in the fire, even though my coals were going a little cold and grey….haha! Couldn`t believe the bookies put Canadian Steel in at that price, had done nothing different to Muroor, but, Muroor was out as big as 11/1 this morning? You have to play at those prices. Can never understand our (UK) bookies with prices over in Ireland and I have used them to good fortune over the time i have been betting, especially when UK trainers send horses over there, always shorten on ours and lengthen on theirs, which the bookies on course react to from “office” money, no wonder JP used to make a killing back in the day…

          1. Nowt wrong with that Josh, quality over quantity and there is definitely a lot of quality!

          2. Err, not that I’m included in that elite bunch, still need another season under my belt before getting anywhere near the levels of some on here! Nick will be back, Colin and the two Martins do well and some of the others are all weighing in! Not to mention you getting yer own value eyes back in focus! Sometimes you just need a refocus and a break and back on the bike we get!

  5. one i like from Section 1 is Field Of Vision (micro class) Chepstow 4-20. 12-1 4 places, drops into a class 6 for the first time and is very well weighted.

  6. Lambourn
    Thats it for today.
Hughes still not put his views up, and will leave him alone for today sticking with the two earlier bets from Hills.

  7. Well done Stewart, been backing your selections since I joined RTP last December and going along very nicely, thankyou and once again well done.
