There’s the 8.10 at Roscommon but it’s a 0-95 so I won’t bother! 🙂 And bar the big Irish races I probably shouldn’t play over there too often.

July Tipping Comp Winners

Prize winners…from the results shared, I think the two below are the winners but I stand to be corrected… this week there were two who came on top, with a ‘less is more’ approach, just hitting the min required number of selections (20)…

£30 for top ROI

Goes to Danny (Freezing1)… with 20 bets / 3 wins / +47.51 / ROI 237.55%

I think Danny also hit the top profit as well, but I changed the prize rules for July to ensure two winners a month, thus increasing chances of a cash prize return… so….

£20 for top profit… I’m going to give this to the person who was next down the P/L list, who was also second on ROI…

Mark B (scoop6) … 21 bets / 4 wins/ +30.96 / 147% ROI

I’ll be in touch with you both soon 🙂

    1. yep worth a read , I had a flick through last night. Always interested in how others read a race/horses, even on the flat!! 🙂 I thought the initial focus was interesting… straight into looking at 4yo+ handicaps, no 3 year olds running (or very few), not sprint trips. Those who like analysing the flat etc, that’s not a bad way to narrow down into races. You could avoid C6 also maybe.

  1. COLINS BETS
2.30 Catterick The Grey Zebedee BOG 4/1
    5.10 Catterick Explain BOG 11/1
7.30 Nottingham Crystal Tiara BOG 4/1
    ELITE BETS
    5.10 Catterick Mujassam BOG 5/1
7.20 Ripon Caustic Love BOG 7/2
    Colin

  2. Lambourn
    Charles Hills
4.25 Newbury Wafy BOG 5/1 you can make a case for Ed Walkers Baryshinkov, once again at 3/1 cannot take the risk even though it as been backed.
6.30 Nottingham Saikung BOG 8/1 dropped in class and Gerald Mosse is in the plate and he has ridden a winner or two for Charles Hills this season.
    Ed Walker
6.05 Newbury Jack D’Or BOG 8/1 has Ed says a few progressive and unexposed sorts in the race, he his quite sweet on this one and 8/1 is worth the risk.

Jamie Osbourne not put his views yet if he does and anything worth backing will put them up later
    Colin

    1. Saikung just won for Hills and Wafy finished 2nd so once again the ones what are missed for whatever reason forget about them, there will be plenty of action on the flat and AW from the four trainers i watch.
      Colin

      1. Great day Colin, pinging winners in from all angles! Well done to you, and as always a big smiley thankyou.
        Best wishes, Tom.

  3. Lambourn
    Jamie Osbourne
4.55 Newbury Hashtagmetoo BOG 13/2 sweet on this one and Oisin Murphy is a positive doubt this one will be far away! famous last words.
    Colin

    1. Ah Charlie, naughty boy… or an admin error.. but it would appear out of all his runners at Newbury he didn’t have any quotes for his runner in the 4.55… who bolts up 22s>14s! Maybe an oversight on handicap debut in a nursery, ahem! 🙂 I can’t think owners would instruct to be no public comment but there’s a chance they have.

      1. Just had a look at the owner of the 4.55 winner would imagine they do not wish for the information to be passed onto every Tom,Dick and Harry for they pay expensive training fees to Charles Hills and if the wanted to back it on course then he cannot put it up, this will happen with all trainers and there will be plenty to back other wise.
        Colin.

        1. Oh I fully understand and agree with an owner’s right to have no comments made public, esp in the morning! That’s the game. Found it strange that for every other single runner it would appear there were comments bar that one! But an interesting aside anyway.
Maybe nothing to it this time, who knows.

What makes you say that about the oweners? JH Widows and Partners, you’re aware they like a bet? Intersting/useful info if so! 🙂

          1. Not had a look to see how many they have in training with Hills for just got in and reading and watching interviews of Rooney joining Derby, not my favourite player but in Mel and Cocu i trust.
Having watched Hills runners their colours do not spring to mind and would imagine they did not wish to advertize their horses chance, maybe wrong but that is my view.
Used to have information from Tony Carroll and a few of his owners would not allow him to pass information on their horses, so this is where i get my view from, and he was very open and honest and anyone who wants a horse in training and live close to Evisham you will always be made welcome, i could pop down anytime without an appointment bar Sunday of course.
            Colin.

      2. Miss Villanelle was listed on the site ready for comments when I looked on the site at around 7:45 this morning so would appear to have been removed some time after. Strange!!

        Chris R.

        1. Would imagine Lambourn website would put all Lambourn runners from the trainers who partake in the board, so any trainer would have a list of owners who do not wish have their horses put up and the trainer will inform Lambourn to take the name of the horse down.
          Colin.

  4. My nap of the day….is 6.05 Newbury, Isolate, 1 point each way, 12/1 now.

From a Lambourn perspective I would add to the above 4.25 Newbury, Barashnikov, 3/1 now, for Ed Walker and 6.05 Newbury, Alandalos, 11/2 now, for Charlie Hills. My criteria for each way for this analysis is 5/1+ and so all runners are win only and they also become each way at 5/1+. I hope that is clear?

    Good luck.

  5. As regards the 4.55 would it be unusual for Archie Watson to put a good one in to win it as he sponsors the race

    1. hmmm, well logically he’d want them to run well, which may be why a LTO winner is here… to add to the puzzle the fav and Archie’s are owned by the same syndicate – well diff people make them up but same people manage them I think – that Burke horse split horses in the low 70s LTO, the horse behind him having won on next start. Doyle booked. Can see why fav but has to prove stays and settle better than LTO , but that was after 57 days off.

I’d say the fact Archie’s horse started off in C5 / C6 median auction maiden races suggests may not be near top of his two year old string but unlike nearly all of them at least he knows how to win.
I’d always be nervous about diving in short with 2 year olds as they will never get driven hard hard to win – and you’d think something may have more in hand, but who knows.

Maybe a reverse forecast between top two if you must! But it’s a 2YO nursery which is far away from my comfort zone!! 🙂
      best of luck
