  1. 77 days to wait for proper racing to resume, but a couple of value bets today at Doncaster

    2.10 Watheer 14/1
    5.35 Miss Ranger 25/1

Roger Fell is tipping along on the flat this year, has a good record with 4yo at the venue.Ben Curtiss seems to be main goto jockey. Not much by way of form for this duo, miss ranger has proven she can win on soft though

    1. Hi, I have backed Miss Ranger, has won off OR69, has clearly had an issue as was off for 600+ days, but since joining Fell he has its rating down to OR59, not bad for just 4 runs. Probably a big ask to win today but if you believe that Fell runs them into fitness then maybe this horses turn is near, 28/1 today plus the horse is down to run again next week I believe . Good luck

  2. COLINS BETS
    5.20 Salisbury Youkan BOG 11/4
    ELITE BETS
    4.45 Salisbury Dashed BOG 6/4
    NEW METHOD
5.00 Doncaster Lightning Attack BOG 11/2

  3. 3.05. Salisbury. Mina Vagante e/w with Eagle Queen and Lady Elysia to place.

Trappy race and the fav may well win and the others at the top of the market may well fill the places but the prices are a disgrace considering what those that have run have achieved..Mina is a good e/w price at the moment but the doubt is the soft ground hence the price I think…I am prepared to forgive the debut run of Eagle Queen to hit the frame and Lady Elysia at a bigger price as the speed was good last time out and the horse did not get a clear run and may well hit the frame too…. The fav may well win but cannot back at the price. gd lck if playing.

    1. No cigar…like all good e/w and place suggestions finished out the frame…hopefully other picks will do better

  4. 4.10 Salisbury. Emaraaty Ana win only.

I hate putting up short priced horses but this one worth a small win only bet as Atzeni on board and has the best jockey stats 5/13 for 3 yo 38% plus £28 level stakes and is very much in form…the horse has been running over 8f very badly but is a sprinter so may well run better over this distance and has clocked 38.69 mph compared with Snazzy Jazzy clocking 38.33 mph over the same distance of 6f…Snazzy has the advantage of having soft ground form which my choice does not but willing to accept that for the 10/3 on offer (5.4 on BF.)…The best speed belongs to Archer’s Dream in a C5…(Emaraaty and Snazzy have G2 and G3 form respectively) clocking 39.11 mph over 6f on gd ground which by anyone’s standards over 6f is remarkable as the average is 37.10 mph and according to the racing post did this “very easily”, so you must ask yourself why is this horse not short odds on? Ground or class concerns of a repeat of that performance is an obvious concern…bookies are not that generous so cannot have the horse as it is not short enough, weird logic, I know, as you could argue the other way and say the horse is at that price and is a good one and offers value…..but not for me. George Bowen has clocked 38.59 mph so could figure ..of the others Arbalet has clocked 37.70 and Richenza has clocked 38 .06 at the 6f distance and the latter has form on soft in a C3 and if there were 8 runners would be worth an each way poke but given the number of runners not any value so not a bet for me….so unfortunately a shortie for the selction…gd lck with whatever you are backing.

    1. Ground went against Emaraaty and Archers dead heat with Snazzy so looks like a good horse stepping up from a C5 to a listed and dead heating with a G3 performer and beating G2 performer in Emaraaty so one to put in tracker going forwards….back Tuesday with, hopefully better results than the past few days.

  5. Daily selections are up on the CT page. Apologies for the no show yesterday but life got in the way despite my protestations. From now on I’m posting the usual stuff on the CT page only, and just put up the odd fancied horse in here, same as everyone else. Keeps it tidier. Today’s fancied horse is Here’s Two in the 4.30 Donny.

  6. 3.20 Doncaster. Bullion Boss win only.

This is a spectacularly poor race with some horses with good pedigrees that are not even mediocre at best so is a sobering demonstration that good pedigrees do not equate with good horses and is not an exact science by any stretch of the imagination….Sea of Faith is a ridiculous price but understand why…the opposition are appallingly bad…10f average is 36.15 mph…Sea of Faith clocked 35.16 and that is a good as it gets so why Bullion Boss?………well on adjusted figures over the longer distance I have that horse slightly ahead and thought this was enough to take on the fav…may not happen and Sea of Faith may win by default based on the fact that the horse is racing against a very poor bunch but worth a small win only bet…another possible angle is betting Thornton Le Clay without the fav at around 17/2 but prefer the win only option as above as Bullion 3/10 on without the fav which is not a bet I would have. All the best if playing.

    1. No cigar again but happy with the run of Bullion Boss so no complaints…..over time shorties are worth opposing but unfortunately, not this time.

  7. Hi Tim
Ref your NF HC bet have put a question and a observation, put it on the Tipping page in error so hope you see it.
    Cheers
    Colin

  8. Betfair down again they push you to bet on this site so they can stop you beating them and it is now becoming a regular occurance, time they spent some of their mega profits on decent computer staff.
This is not me talking but my son who has said the bookmakers sites are terrible and he has not changed his tune in over 10 years.
He had a placement with Pepsi last year and having got his degree he is working for them again for 6 weeks before starting full time with Cisco the largest out their, and his starting salary is £38, 000 plus 8% bonus, the top companies pay top wages for the best, bookmakers certainly do not!

    1. It’s just cyclical mate. I barely made anything in the first 8 months of 2017 before doing ok the rest of the year and very well in 2018. Just have to ride it out. I had more than my fair share of the close ones go my way last year and the opposite has happened this year. I could have easily been 40-50pts up last month given a few big priced ones just failed to get up. Last year also helped getting consistent weather. I’m personally not in the slightest bit despondent. It’s just racing for you.

  9. Evening Josh,
Are you doing your usual trends on The Ascot Handicaps please this week? They represent an invaluable aid to my calculations.
On another subject, Bet Victor who I have used for many years have now withdrawn ‘ Best Odds Guaranteed’ from my account.
I only found this out when I was paid £64 short yesterday when Angus whom I had £40 EWAY on drifted from 14s to 22s in the 5.35 at Sandown and came third.
I queried this with them and they say they sent an email last month alerting me to the unpalatable decision. I said no email had been received so they sent me a copy that must have originally gone to junk.
Last year I cancelled Sky Bet, Ladbrokes and Corals when they pitifully started restricting my stake to around 10% of what I wanted to place.
The bookmakers don’t want punters. They like the £5 and £10 customers and more and more are making it harder to allow good bets.
It’s disgusting and I fear it’s going to get worse.
They will kill racing and it’s a scandal that the paying customer is treated with such distain and no respect.

    1. Hey, yep I plan to attack the 2x all aged handicaps.. hunt cup and Wokingham. I plan to have these complete by Tuesday lunchtime. Hunt Cup is on Wed. Would usually get them posted a few days before but alas I’ve sent myself on an as hoc short break 🙂 so Apols about that. You’ll have Tuesday afternoon onwards to get stuck in.
