Well despite being on holiday i’d have likely had a browse at the 7pm Aintree given it’s a 3m+ handicap chase, but there are only 4 runners so i’ll leave it alone.

Hopefully worth a flick through if you haven’t already and well, it took me ages to write : ) .. it does include some info on the ratings pointers (red symbols in section 1) that you may find useful, strike rates of top rated / top 3 etc…

The Tipping Competition… don’t forget this is open to all of you and don’t fear racking up the losers! 🙂 There seems to be 10-15 regular players this month and with a £50 cash prize up for grabs, it’s worth having a go! And hopefully the report above may give you some ideas.

  1. Theflyingportrait, 8.05 Aintree, is a declared runner from Ben Aitken’s Summer Stunners tomorrow but not sure whether the ideal going conditions (good to soft, or better) will be met.

  2. it’s raining in York as i type and the forecast is heavy showers all morning so i can’t see the going being better than proper soft.

  3. I received a letter yesterday from “M Spence Professional Betting” it says the following,
Wanted. Persons of honesty and integrity who can assist us in placing OUR MONEY on well prepared betting coups.
As the UK’S number one commission agents, you will receive a commission based on turnover Without any Financial risk to yourself.
Please do understand that we do not gamble and we will continue to be a thorn in the side of the bookmakers as we have for the last fifteen years.
You may have seen in the financial columns of the media, various articles showing the concern of the leading bookmakers diminishing profits. This is due to their inability to prevent professional punters, such as ourselves from getting our money on.
We therefore invite you, without obligation to participate in this very profitable excercise using OUR MONEY in order for you to achieve a regular monthly income, without taking up much of your time.
    Please call on:- Friday
I know it has to be a scam, so I’m posting this as a warning to others and I wonder if any of you have received similar letters.

    1. Thanks for that, never heard of him, all he has to do is pick a race say 3.30 York with 19 runners at the moment and when he recieves calls give them a different horse if lucky may have given all 19 horses say to 5 different individuals at £50 to sp so he has a free £250 bet on each horse and will be guarenteed a return.
Maybe doing him diss service for he may well be above board, say that he his once you are putting on say £50 for him then to make it worth while for yourself another £50 or £100 etc your bookmaker accounts will be closed if successful.
This is for those who are not aware how these scams can work this is crtainly away they do it, for me only passing knowledge and experience.

  6. Selections……1.50. York …She Can Dance 8/1 e/w and Invincible Bertie 100 /1 e/w.

Reasons to be cheerful or not !! Yesterday small profit with the each way selections placed…international trial disappointing so work to do there, today my main selection was going to be Stone Circle but is a non runner and was chosen on a good run on debut and on pedigree so one to watch out for when declared again. In the 1.50 at York have gone for e/w value as the betting suggests the bookies are really restricting any value at the top end of the market…the one I prefer at the top of the market is Olcan having a good speed at Newcastle over 5f 37.84 mph and was described as running on…this was on a galloping track as is York but given the tricky nature of the race do not want to back at the price of 4/1…my reason for choosing the above two are as follows…Kevin Ryan is 13/83 and 16% for a loss of £-9.25….which is the best trainer stat for the race…the horse has had a run a 38.22 mph at Thirsk in a C4 over 5f which is above average (37.27) for that distance…..pedigree is just ok and the horse was described as one paced so given the conditions should handle the ground…the other selection is the rank outsider so hoping for a place at a Zebedee sire that is a sprint pedigree with stamina on the dams’ side so is well balanced…nothing spectacular speed wise on debut at Haydock and there is a question mark on the accuracy of the going that day as described in the racing post so speed calculated as an average of 37.15 mph over the distance so just about average…if soft as the going is described as being would have been 37.69 mph…Asmund is by the same sire but different dam, has not had a run and is an April foal whereas Bertie was foaled in January, has had a run being beaten 13.5 lengths into last and is 100/1 not 5/1 so what is there not to like at that kind of price…if 50/1 or less not a bet ….the favs looks like being My Kinda Day…favs 37% so at 10/3 is a fair price and value as should be shorter as respectable speed of 37.15 mph over 5f and is dropping in class, has York experience and was foaled in March so could not put anyone off backing that one. Hope this is helpful..all the best whatever you decide.

Information….not sure if you know of a web site but lots of free info that may be of use. I am not associated with the website in any way….just a good source of free info that’s all..

    1. Disappointing that neither of the selections hit the frame and cannot believe She Can Dance went off short priced fav though Andy Holding apparently tipped up the horse, a fact I was unaware of and not sure I would have put it up If I had known, but there you go..never mentioned the winner so what do I know!….back to the drawing board but nothing stands out today so back tomorrow.

        1. Cheers…….will do but does add support to my belief that better quality races are better for consistency and results C3 and C4 more problematical…C2 upwards far better and the pedigrees confirm this as well……the higher the grade of race the better the pedigree which I was surprised to find out hence my focus on the better quality races so may re- think and put up C2., listed races and above…some of the listed races can be pretty rubbish, too along with G3 races and prefer selecting unexposed 2yo and 3yo olds as pedigrees tend to point the way so will see how that pans out going forwards.
