Tipping Comp: 01/06/19

June- 1st day’s tips…

The JUNE Tipping Competition

Because I don’t have any tipping league software set up as yet, I rely on trusting you to keep an accurate record and obey the rules! 🙂 It doesn’t work otherwise as I don’t have the time to keep track etc.

The Rules

  • The comp will run for the duration of April
  • A minimum of 20 ‘tips’ per month (horses only!)
  • NEW: A MAXIMUM of 180 tips per month (average 6 a day or so, but no daily limit, just monthly)
  • Tips recorded to 1 point win
  • Tips recorded to Betfair Starting Price (excluding commission deductions)
  • Tips posted in the comments below (any horse posted in this post,is clearly a tip)
  • Tips posted at least 1 hour before the selection runs.
  • The winner – whoever has the Biggest positive Return On Investment %
  • The prize: £50 to the winner. (if there’s ever joint winners the prize will be split)
  • I have the final say on everything. 🙂

How to find BFSP?

Apparently you can find BFSP on Attheraces website, without needing to register, or…

…the timeform website here>>> https://www.timeform.com/horse-racing/results/today

You just need to register a free account. EG an 8.00 winner is  +7 points profit, to 1 point win. Easy

So, use the comments below for your Competition Entries Only. Your selections have to be posted below in order to qualify for the prizes.

Best of luck,

  6. Hi all, todays effort: 🙁

    HEXHAM 17:20 DONNAS DREAM

  7. I backed a couple of winners in Josh’s races last month so I’d like to add them this month. Thus will only tip in races that Josh or Nick have tipped in, never tip the same horse as either of them and if I can’t find a value bet no tip. I have to restrict the number of races somehow or will exceed 180 easily. Post between 11am and noon. I’d like to add a short explanation to each tip if I may.

    Worcester 1.45 Lord Ballim

Course winner last season off 2lb higher on soft, has won on good. His other good run last year was also here but over hurdles, beaten half a length. That was same distance as today so would expect him to stay OK over fences. At the price I’ll take a chance on him returning to form here again.

    Epsom 3.45 Mokaatil

2lb higher than a recent win, Ian Williams adds cheekpieces for which he has a good record first time and books a 5lb claimer. He uses an awful lot of jockeys but this one has ridden the horse before. I think the draw advantage is wherever the pace is and Ornate in stall 1 next door will be going very fast.

    Epsom 5.15 Breath Caught

I’ll chance Ian Williams again, this time with Jim Crowley. They are 10/41, +24, flat handicaps. Horse wins fresh. Looks well in on his AW win. Possible improvement from being gelded.

I think Nick has nabbed the value bets at Stratford especially Souriyan who I backed last night so no bets for me there.

    1. GL Chris, reasoning is always appreciated /encouraged. I did look at Bowens horse at Strat and maybe I got him wrong but at least Nick has covered. I didn’t like his run LTo albeit maybe he was nowhere near fit and was just there to potter around, which given the break after his last run, PU, may make sense. Can only assume he injured himself at Cartmel, and I didn’t think his chase form to date was that good. However, you can make a neg case for all at odds so I suppose that improves his chance if he runs his race. We shall see. It will be rented pride if he bolts up at 11s+, but a healthy bank balance!

  8. MAY COMP Results:- 6 from 45 +1.75pts + 3.88% ROI

    June:-
    Hex 3:50 Champagne To Go
    Eps 4:30 Teleprompter

    Mark B.
