Review – first, and most important, I have the utmost respect for all those who tip regularly on this site. As a newbie I’m happy to finish in profit, it started well but slipped away badly. I experienced the highs and extreme lows (RIP Misterton) of the sport. I enjoyed looking at the form in a more disciplined way, but it was a scattergun approach with everything from all weather sprints to long distance chases at prices from 11/4 to 25/1. Latest learning from the debate this month is to find what I’m best at and specialise – learning curve to continue in March!
Jim,being 10pts up in a difficult month is a very good result,if you can replicate that every month its a handsome return of +120pts,there are professional tipsters with lots of resources at their disposal would be trumpeting that from the rooftops. The big obstacle in every punters battle is coping with losing runs, the ability to trust in your process, losing runs are par for the journey, losing days will always be more numerous and they tend to come in clumps draining you of confidence and make you question your approach. You will learn over time what your strength is,I couldn’t pick a winner in a 2 horse race at lingfield or Kempton AW so i leave it alone, just keep on what you are doing, you are a winner as it is
Second that, December was frustrating for me and I thought January would be a washout, because i bet on average 2 horses a race, it can get really frustrating watching both of them all finish out the back of the tv.
However, it should always be the selection process that dictates how you are feeling, a little tweak here and there and following advice from everyone on here (Nick and Josh have definitely been instrumental in my success over the sticks this NH season, on the flat however, i cannot pick my nose with Mohammed Ali`s fist and normally follow Nick off a cliff, as far as selections go!!).
Sorry meant to put Josh as well… 🙂
