  2. Still no prices at Kempton yet so maybe back later with a bet?
Otherwise just a jockey performance and one 5 runner handicap Favourite race
    W.Hutchinson/Plumpton I’ve bought at 24.5
    Musselburgh 4.55

  3. Golf Tips – we made 5.25 points last week with Paul Casey finishing second. We could have had another 33 points if Casey had been able to take advantage of his 3 stroke 54 hole lead. He is now 4/5 in the U.S. in giving up a 54 hole lead.
This week in the Genesis Open we are going with:

Cameron Champ, 1 point each way at 90/1. A talent who I cannot let go off at such a price without having a bet.

Adam Hadwin, 1 point each way at 55/1. A much improved player in 2019.

    Good luck.

    1. Hi Martin. Nice place and I laid off the stake on the win bet, so decent return but shame he didn’t win. The only time Casey has won was when he came from a long way back to post a low score on the final day. Pressure off until the last few holes when he realised he was in with a shout. There is clearly a mental block when in front. Goes too conservative, trying to hang on rather than just playing his natural game.

Regarding EW bets on golf, would you recommend taking more places at lower odds or highest odds and give up a few places? In racing I tend to go for the extra places as the price differences are usually only a point or two and if it drifts you get BOG anyway but with the golf, the price differences can be substantial.

      1. Hi Ken,

it all depends on what you are aiming for with your bet? I am happy with six places and a better price than more places and a reduction. As you know I lay off when I am going well in running to guarantee a profit. My target in a year is to make £9,000 in profit in a calendar year in Golf bets. I start off with a strategy and then tend to amend it as time goes on to reach/exceed it. Once I hit the target I become defensive in bets to protect it.

  4. Genesis Open
    Xander Schaueffle 28/1 1pt ew
    Adam Scott 40/1 1pt ew
    Adam Hadwin 55/1 1pt ew
    Scott Stallings 80/1 1pt ew

A nice full place payout on Stallings last week at 150/1. Frustratingly Glover fell 1 shot shy of a place with my bookies (ok if you used skybet 8 places) which would have been another nice return at 125/1.

Giving the Super 6 in Perth a fairly wide berth, but have a small win only bet on Lucas Herbert at 22/1

    1. Before Colin gives me a hard time 🙂 The xander price was boosted with Ladbrokes he’s now only generally available at 22/1

      1. James would i give you a hard time?
For me you have to be true to yourself and what you would expect when someone is putting up a bet and only a select few can achieve the price.
Any bet that i put up then 2 bookmakers on Oddschecker have to show the price, yes i could manipulate the price by putting up a stand alone bookmaker, but for me that is wrong and i attempt for the majority to be able to get the price.
Pricewise of the RP has had a hard time from me in the past over prices , one day they advertised a price with Sporting Bet of 50/1 all others were 25/1, the horse won at 25/1 SP and the RP paper shouted about this 50/1 winner, at the time knew the lads in the office well for was proofing to them my bets, would you have got £50 ew at 50/1 with Sporting Bet doubt it and the RP lads agreed but they have to do what they are told.
Notice how RP do not keep a true record of results and prices because Tom Segal does not show a profit on a fair playing field and i recorded his paper bets for 2 years and he lost both years.
        Colin.

        1. It was tongue and cheek, i agree with what you said, I only put my fancies on here so not looking to score the best P&L, unfortunately I backed my picks on Monday and forgot to post & they have all shortened up a little.

Weather looks bad again in California, hearing play on Thursday could be touch and go and maybe be lift clean and replace, so the bombers in with a definite advantage.

  5. Kempton very tight tonight and if it drops to 74 it will be a buy.I will let you if I manage get on as I’m away from things for next half hour or so
