  1. Having to miss 2yo day at Nwmkt today owing to vicious sore throat. Always a tough card even when one is present with mostly shortish priced winners.

The highlight for me should be Travel On in the 3.10 who owes me a lump from Leicester last week where he was still green, slow away and couldn’t handle the bend. Hopefully the step up to 10f from 8f and no bends should see him fully able to use his big stride. If he fails here then he must just be slow and not have what it takes despite his looks.

In the 1.40 I have Pamper joint top with Rainbow Heart so shall do an exacta. Rainbow Heart is deservedly favourite but not much strength in depth after that so happy to take a little punt on a Fanshawe debutant. The winners are few and far between but do sometimes occur here.

I like Poetic Era in the next, Simcock time of year.

One other outsider that features highly in my unraced algorhythm numbers is Sawaasee in the 4.20. Looks very much up against it though.

  2. Thoughts on Morney Wing 4.35 Fontwell? Probably too short but is on a very low mark. Surely the best horse on paper here by miles and Charlie Mann looks on form.

    1. hmm, a race I was happy to leave alone. He’s 0/5,2p after 121+ days, all wins with cut in the ground – in that context 11/4 may seem short enough but all relevant to the opponents and it’s a pretty poor race. As you say yard are in great form, and trainer can ready them, so who knows. He stays further and there’s not much pace on paper. 2 rivals fit and in form though to beat. I’d want bigger personally but i’m bang out of form so take that with a pinch of salt! If you think he’s value then ignore me!

  3. Golf Tips.

HSBC Shanghai – Rafa Cabrero Bello (RCB) at 33/1, 1 point each way. He finished third last week and has played well in China before.

Sandersons – Aaron Baddeley at 28/1, 1 point each way. Has been in decent form and he is up against a weakish field this week.

    Good luck.
