  1. Sorry, got over-excited by backing Mabs Cross (thank you Martin Colwell) and posted in the wrong section.

    No qualifiers tomorrow, thank God.

    Good luck!

  2. AW results update.

    w/c 1 October – staked 31pts, profit 4pts, ROI 12.90% or £20 to £5 stakes.

Two decent priced winners on Saturday got us back into profit after a dismal start to the week. Let’s hope we can keep it going.

    Kempton on Monday. Qualifiers are:
    6.45 Quarry Beach 7/2
    7.45 Baraweez 25/1 (EW) & Pactolus 7/1
    8.15 Refrain 7/2 & Psychotic 7/1
    8.45 Indian Affair 16/1
    9.15 Top Boy 7/1 & Oneovdem 16/1

All 1pt win except where noted EW – 3 or 4 places available, your choice. I’ll be having small rev f/casts on the pairs.

    Good luck

It was a slow week last week with only 3 out of 6 bet days. It was looking like a losing week until as predicted by a lot of you guys on here, the rain came at Ascot and the punt I took on Raising Sand paid off. Very rarely I go 2pt win bets but if that rain came he looked far too strong for me. Even with the 10p R4 that win turned the week around. Hopefully get a few more selections this week and keep the profitable weeks going 🙂

  5. Following on from the notes from the London Racing Club ARC Preview, which did highlight some winners over the two days, here are some brief comments that were made re the upcoming Champions Day at Ascot.

Lah Ti Dar is expected to turn up – Nick Smith (NS).

Has Stradivarius had enough this season or will he go again for the long distance cup? He is the best stayer about and has had a rest so should be OK. It is also likely that some ARC also rans may turn up in this race – Paul Kealy (PK).

In the sprint 0 The Tin Man won this two years ago and likes the course but is inconsistent. Librisa Breeze loves Ascot and has good course form and will likely sit and wait and pounce – PK.

In the QE2 Roaring Lion may run instead of the Champion Stakes and so try to back for this non runner no bet as he will be a shoe in if he runs. Recollectos will not like soft ground – NS

    1. Dry week at Ascot, except for light rain Thursday, so Recoletos will get his ground if the f/c is right.

  9. Just listened to the conversation that James Doyle had on ATR with Matt Chapman (you can hear it on one of Josh’s tweets) – great interview and the lad was completely honest about how upsetting it was to lose the Arc so narrowly yesterday
I’m a big fan of Doyle who always speaks very eloquently and is obviously a clever lad and I do think he has improved immeasurably this season even if he has been a really good jockey for a few years; he has been exceptional for the most part this Summer and I’m sure in the seasons to come he will have even greater success. There is nothing to be disappointed with after giving the filly a great ride and just failing to beat another wonderful horse in Enable
Disappointing to lose yesterday but hopefully the horse will come back even stronger next season
On a better note for me it was great to see Mabbs Cross with the L’Abbaye for a local trainer (to me) and particularly after the narrow loss at York -)
