  1. Lingfield 29th August Nursery and Maiden
Nursery 7f for horses rated 0-60
Here are my notes from before Ocean Rouge’s last outing
An interesting one today in Ocean Rouge at Ffos Las 2.45 over 7.5f. I saw Ocean Rouge on debut behind Forsetti at Salisbury. My comments that day were: Ocean Rouge – David Evans Should find a race for this one. 68
I then saw him run 10th behind Almur at Newbury over 6f when he ran prominently for 5f before fading back.
His third run was over 7f at Wolverhampton and he travelled well before fading and running wide around the top bend only receiving 1 flick down the neck. This really looked like a set up for a nursery run. However, the handicapper has not yet given him a mark for his 4th run (correct me if I’m wrong but I think the handicapper has the discretion not to allocate a mark if he suspects that he has not seen enough to make a reasonable assessment). This would lead one to think that he is running here again for a mark rather than to compete for the win. Hot Team, the favourite has won a Nov Auc and yet is rated 87. Anything finishing close up to him or beating him is going to be stuck with a ludicrously high mark so it should be interesting to see those keen for this not to happen struggling to get their mounts well beaten.
No bet but interesting to see how Ocean Rouge is ridden (by Keiran O’Neil who was on Greeley yesterday) in the hope that it tees us up for a nursery bet further down the line.

On the day he broke well but then seemed to resent being prevented from staying with the leaders and became lit up. Only received one stroke and their was a lot of elbow and rein shaking but not sur how serious the intent was. Hard to say he was never put in the race and he certainly dropped out quickly so a bit inconclusive really.
Today he gets to run off 58 so on my ratings is 10lbs well in and even the OR has him 2nd top weight. He also has Adam Kirby up who Mr Evans often turns to when he wants a job done properly.
The negatives are that his last two runs were pretty poor, also Mr Evans is not in great form. The form at Newbury was ok and he did not look out of place there in a fair race. I don’t feel as strongly about this one as I did about Greeley and I had Valentino Sunrise rated 65 who goes of 51 today with a 7lb claimer up and does look as if I over-rated him.
Bottom line is that if my original rating was correct Ocean Rouge should scoot up. I have always felt he was a plot horse owing to his physique, Main dangers Valentino Sunrise and Duke Of Yorkie, No Diggity and Burning Lake are unexposed form ok 2yo stables
    1pt e/w Ocean Rouge

  2. Lingfield 2.50 7f Novice Auction
    1. Annecy, Chicago Doll
    2. –
    3. Bella Vita*, Cedar, London Pride, Now Beat It, Stay Forever
Bella Vita’s form on debut looks pretty irresistible here and EJH generally improves them 2to. We are now coming to the time when David Simcock’s 2yos usually flourish so Annecy will bear close attention. Chicago Doll rated 67 on debut with the note needs further.
If anything is to turnover Bella Vita I would think it might be one of the top two rated. As I am going today I will make a decision on a bet once I’ve seen them.
    Bella Vita non runner
1pt win both Annecy and Chicago Doll.

      1. Good picking with Annecy, thank you.

        Your analysis is top class.

Regarding David Evans form, hrb indicates that he’s usually firing as well as he can this time of year. Perhaps that prolonged dry spell has put him behind schedule a couple of weeks, it does seem to have affected quite a few trainers that way.

    Made in Denmark
    Matt Fitzpatrick 1 point ew 16/1 1/5 7 CO, 16/1 1/5 6 WH PP BO BV BFSB
Three players in with a shout for automatic selection for the Ryder Cup final place,Fitzparick,Pepperhill and the fav Olsen, for me Fitzpatrick is the one to handle the pressure, but Olsen only needs to be 7th to secure the place.

  4. Golf Tips – In the U.S. this week we have a Friday start due to Labour Day. I like at 33/1 last weeks winner Bryson De Chambeau for 1 point each way. I also like Brooks Koepka at 12/1 for 2 points each way. Brooks is on top form at present.
In the tournament match ups available on Matchbook I like Tommy Fleetwood to beat and injury carrying Henrik Stenson at 1.8 for points.

At present I do not like any bet in the tournament in Denmark this week.

    Good luck.

  5. normally when moaning about a tipping service it’s the quality of the tips my moan is actually about getting no tips !
I quite often trial tipping services and signed up for a 10 day free trial for The Bookies Enemy through Betting Gods whilst there i took up a special price intro to Rods Runners, cheap enough that i could try it out at £2 a point and still make a fair profit over the 6 months if the figures held up.
since signing up i have received nothing not even a payment confirmation never mind a tip,i must say i have found Betting Gods customer service pretty abysmal here is a record of my correspondence with them.
this is my latest email to them:

Lets be honest this is getting a bit silly now and as a prominent member of a
