3. Pesto, Venedegar
Very competitive, below are my previous comments about those seen:-
Pesto – Athletic type, maybe a bit straight in the shoulder which would not help Pesto on drying ground. Not fully tuned improve. 76
Ritchie Valens – the price here for a Hannon runner suggested he was not ready. Still a bit fat and downhill but a good athletic shape. Ran green early but stayed on well. Should collect a maiden.75
Merlin’s Magic – Here to get experience, likeable strongly made type. Worth watching nto, potential improver. 73
Whatever wins this should rate well above 80 to which all those seen might improve, but I would suspect that there may be something special amongst the debutants.

The one’s I have seen
La Pelosa – Strongly made powerful filly. Chance gone when hampered. 88
La Pelosa looks like being very short. I think she was beaten when hampered at Newmarket and may not be that keen coming out again so soon. I did see Ajrar at Lingfield and she is an ordinary looking filly. Happy to go with my ratings.

Comment on Legends Of War from Newmarket July stakes…
Legends Of War – Very strongly made and muscled. Prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and think something was wrong here. 90

4. Duke Of Yorkie
1pt Win Blyton. 1/2pt Win Duke Of Yorkie
Blyton – More lightly built than the winner and third. May be better over 6f. Subsequently beaten by Soldiers Call. 77
Leading Spirit – Medium sized heavily made lumpy type. Looked slow at a walk. 70
Duke Of Yorkie – Caught the eye a couple of times 70
A nice nursery conundrum. I shall have to take on Leading Spirit if he is odds on as appears likely. He may be good enough to win this but On my ratings he should be getting 7lbs from Blyton and is only getting 3lbs. I doubt that he is as bad a horse as Duke Of Yorkie and I may have over-rated the race DoY ran in at Salisbury. Nevertheless he is receiving 15lbs from Leading Spirit and 18lbs from Blyton. He has certainly not done much since but maybe that was the plan. DoY is by Morpheus who was a miler as was his Mum but he has three half brothers who have won over 5 & 6f and he is dropping back from 7f. Blyton is a ready 2yo cheap speed type and may be regressive. Worth a dabble.
