2.Any ‘Notes’ (my subjective thoughts/’tips’)

Test/trial  : ‘NOTES’ ‘aka Tips’(2017 Sept-Dec: 31/176, +110.75)(2018: 12/147,45p, -7)  (1 point win bets) (Festival Tips 2018: +156)

NONE, nothing today from the stats quals today exciting me too much at the prices, tipping wise.

Festival Tipping… as an aside I think that win yesterday takes the ‘Festival’ tips to around +230 points or so this year, when including the ‘National’s etc from the Free post tips. I think that’s probably from around a 70-90 point outlay, so not a bad ROI so far. We have Glorious Goodwood and Galway on the horizon, which given that record I’d best try and focus on! That winner was much needed, mentally, after a testing/quiet couple of months post the Jumps festivals. Now I just need to find an approach for the daily ‘notes’ tips, which is the only blip in 2018 so far, tipping wise. Still, +230 odd points on the tipping content isn’t too bad. 🙂 But, always work to do.

  1. Interesting stat of the Day. Or so I think.

the sire Pastoral Pursuits has had 149 runners (not individual total) this turf season. Only 3 (2%) have won with 24 placing (16%). That compares with a life time average of 11% wins and 29% places.

Can anyone tell me where to get stats for the following please.

    1) Trainers record with First time out runs from another stable. i.e switchers.
I want the trainers overall record not from a particular stable.

    2) Trainers records with first time headgear.

    Thanks in advance.

If you have a theory have a theory about Pastoral Pursuits drop off in performance Im all ears. In the meantime i would suggest not backing them.

    Thks.

    1. You can get these on Geegeez or Horseracebase but you would have to become a member of the services. I do not use the Racing Post site but they may have it as well?

  2. well the system test looks to be on a bit of a downward trend but i’ll do the full 100 to get a better idea and today for only the 2nd time (including when i was paper trading) a race has thrown up 2 qualifiers with identical ratings, i have backed both and will be included in figures.
results update 28 selections 1 wins,5 places, staked 28 pts returns 14.25 pts down 13.75 pts.
    todays qualifiers.
    3-40 Worcester. Cool Sky 6-1
    4-10 Worcester. Idder 10-1
5-00 Pontefract. Mishaal 14-1 and Crosse Fire 11-1

    1. I like Mishaal too but research shows that Araqeel and Ace Master (fresh form) are also off lowered ratings.

  3. Leapaway Worcester 16:10 1pt e/w Price taken 9/1 4 places
    Cosmic Chatter Pontefract 17:00 1pt e/w Price taken 12-14/1 4 places

    1. I was slightly kicking myself for leaving out Voodoo Doll given the headgear got taken off and up 2 classes but that more than makes up for it

  4. Pontefract 3:30 Alwaysandforever Went into my tracker when I understood that she went better on the gallops under a stable hand than God Given with Spencer up the week before she (GG)won her Group 3. Had entry next month in Irish G3 but comes here instead 2/1 short enough but may well be just too classy for this opposition

  5. 4.00 Pontefract Suegioo 4/1 available,Richard Fahey as kept this 9yo in training and this must be its best chance of a win since winning the Chester Cup in 2014.
Last 16 runs competed in 13 class 2 races and todays race is class 4 and the last time raced in a class 4 finished 2nd of 9 with the distance to short.
Last run Chester class 2 4th of 16,report from Racing Post behind plenty to do over 2 furlongs out, ridden and headway when switched right over 1 furlong out, stayed on well final 100 yards going on at finish.
Do what you want with this but i do expect a bold show today.

  6. 100% with you Colin, Group form behind Pallasator; wouldn’t want to take less than 4/1. I backed it in last year’s Ascot Stakes so fifth hurt.

  7. I’m a shareholder in the lovely Indomeneo, a horse who loves and understands racing – so only does enough when he wins! He has progressed from the lowest grade to his present rating and will be giving it his best, in ideal conditions. Backed at 6/1.
If he has a target in the last furlong, he will beat it.

  8. Hangover today and i know they say you shouldn’t bet when your not fully focussed, but i fancied a few today.
    just the tips then.
    14:10 Worcester
    AUENWIRBEL 14/1 gen 1pt ew
BOGOSS DU PERRET 11/1 this morning, now 9/1 1pt ew
    16:00 Pontefract
    SUEGIOO 4/1 2pt win
    GRACEFUL LADY 11/2 1pt ew
    16:10 Worcester
SOLSTALLA 16/1 this morning now 7/1 1pt ew
    LETTHERIVERRUNDRRY 25/1 1pt ew
    17:00 Pontefract
CROSSE FIRE 8/1 gen 1pt ew
    MONSIEUR JIMMY 18/1 1pt ew

good luck with whatever you back today.

      1. Well done Stewart. I was just going to say you take the 1st 2 races and I will grab the last 2 if that’s OK?
