2.Any ‘Notes’ (my subjective thoughts/’tips’)
Test/trial : ‘NOTES’ ‘aka Tips’(2017 Sept-Dec: 31/176, +110.75)(2018: 9/105,33p, +6.5) (1 point win bets) (Festival Tips 2018: +101.5)
NOTES – None.
Hmm, strangely for a Saturday there isn’t too much at a price to attack from the stats qualifiers, and those that are I don’t really fancy tipping, not to my subjective eyes anyway, but we shall see if I have got any of those wrong. There isn’t even a decent priced Flat S6 to get excited about. I suppose Munsaab may be worth a small interest wager, given he won the same race last year from 7lb lower, drops back in class, CP back on and he has a very good record fresh/trainer can ready them. However he is 12 now, and open to attack from younger legs, and you do have to take fitness on trust, but you’d think this has been the target.
*
My tipping frustrations continued yesterday but there were plenty of positives to take from the 8pm given I found the 1-2 and strongly mentioned the 10/1 winner as the value danger horse, so hopefully some of you had a saver on. Sadly I didn’t do the 40/1 forecast, but that’s not surprising! Foxtrot was unlucky to a point, as he had to be switched, the winner got first run/the rail, and he just failed to get up, needing a few more strides, the line coming too quickly. Agonising at 8s into 4s and the tide will turn at some point. There have been a few agonising second places/photos in this run, but that’s more of a positive than a negative. It isn’t quite clicking at the moment but it will, one day. I’ll pull a 33/1 winner out the bag at some point 🙂 Parole wasn’t there to win I don’t think, he was a rather big price on the machine and the jockey rather jumped out the stalls and hoped she’d get a decent position, which she didn’t. The rain didn’t really get in as anticipated either and there will be other days for him, when some cut and possibly stepped up in trip. They may even have a plan for him, but he definitely has more handicap wins in him., hopefully soon!

From Nick…
Decided to look at one race for tomorrow. Josh can you put it up when you do tomorrow’s post please.
Evergate York Saturday 15:40 1pt e/w price taken 14/1 5 places
York, going is good after rain most of yesterday and some showers overnight, small chance of a light shower this morning but sunny all afternoon. with the amount of rain yesterday i can’t see there being any sort of firm in the going in fact i would say it will be perfect good ground .
ITV racing.
not a day i will be getting seriously involved just a few fun bets for interest.
Haydock
2-15. The Grand Visir 4-1 win
2-50. Quysar 5-1 win, Ventura Knight 11-1 ew
3-25. looks to be between Heartache 3-1 and Invincible Army 7-2 i’ll go with the latter.
4-00. Muthmir 8-1 ew
Goodwood.
1-55. only 7 runners so just a small win bet on Billesdon Bess 10-1
2-30. Emeraaty 7-1 ew and Ateem 22-1 ew
York.
3-05. Isabel De Urbina 2-1 win
3-40. iv’e had a go on Nick’s tip Evergate 14-1 ew and a smaller bet on Fendale 20-1 ew
Tips – I made 9 points on Thursday and I am now +4.75 points for May. Over at The Curragh, 4.10, Washington DC goes off at 20/1 in a race he was favourite for last year. The ground may be coming in his favour if the rain stays away. Ryan Moore is on US Navy Flag but he may not stay the mile fully? So 1 point each way on Washington DC.
Sorry, I am getting my races messed up. Washington DC goes in the 4.00 HP against Battaash! But still a bet at 20/1 1 point each way. In the 4.10 Cur I would lay US Navy Flag if it shortens right up as a doubtful stayer. I will put my thinking head on now and get a grip.
One more tip from me – My old friend Duke of Firenze goes at York in the 3.40 and he likes it there and is coming to peak form for this and Epsom next week and so 1 point each way.
Good luck.
Josh

BOUNDSY 3.40 York…33s available
23/4 Ponte Notes
Timeform Did well last season, winning 3 times and also posted several good efforts in defeat. Hasn’t shown much spark so far this year, though, and needs to bounce back.
Mike
Richard Fahey has only a 3.88% (5/129) strike rate here at York in 5F sprints. When Timeform say things ‘like needs to bounce back’, it gets me interested in the trainer, but can’t find anything to suggest that today will be the day in Richard Fahey’s profile.
GL if you follow in, but is not a race for me.
COLINS BETS
2.30 Goodwood Maverick Officer
2.50 Haydock Ventura Knight
3.40 York Dakota Gold
3.40 York Batten The Hatches Mr Barron a trainer who likes the big handicaps and David Allan first time in the plate.
Morning,
Here we go with todays, will be trying something different today, going with the shorter prices on my selections, but, still looking at value, assessing a 3/1 shot that is priced above or around that mark, maybe the odd longshot, but, on the whole the shorter priced selections will rule!
We shall see!?
14:00 York
GET KNOTTED 10/1 hills 1pt ew
The price of 12/1 looks generous for this M Dods trained gelding who has won six times from six furlongs to one mile from good to firm to soft ground including twice over this course and distance but after running second on his seasonal debut at Haydock he then too bad to be true in his latest start in the Victoria Cup at Ascot so with Callum Rodriguez taking a valuable 3 pounds off he can surprise today.
14:55 Chester
SOUND ADVICE 15/2 gen 1pt ew
Four times course and distance winner and was a winner off today’s mark over course and distance last May. Good and faster ground conditions suit this horse extremely well so plenty in favour today to suggest a big run is on the cards from stall one.
15:40 York
MAJOR JUMBO 7/1 gen 2pt win
Major Jumbo has been improving in both its last runs last time out lost half a length to El Astronaute not a bad defeat coming from a lesser race which Major Jumbo won first time out after a break and hit career best RPR and Top speed figures last time out should be able to reverse the placings with El Astronaute this time round.
17:15 Chester
DARK DEVIL 4/1 2pt win
This is a trappy affair but can go the way of Dark Devil. He ran a grand race at the big meeting here a couple of weeks ago and looks like Dr Koukash’s best chance of a winner today. Franny Norton rides and that’s worth three pounds anytime around here.
Let us see how we do, all the best with whatever you back today!
I had an email from GeeGeez recommending a book by racing guru Paul Jones “From Soba to Moldova.” It covers many aspects of how to approach punting and the need to adapt strategies to keep ahead of the bookies based on the author’s vast experience. Shelled out £20 for it and it has been worth every penny. Cannot praise it too highly.
