Another quiet day what with Catterick being abandoned and I won’t be dwelling on the AW, i’ll leave that to others 🙂

The FLAT... as an aside… as I type I have no Flat Turf ‘test angles’ to track in the ‘Test Zone’ above – I will come up with a few post Aintree, but if you have any trainer based ideas (not track related) that you think I should take a look at, do post a comment, and i’ll add them to the list.

  1. Eve Johnson-Houghton looks a trainer to follow this season Josh – you might be able to extrapolate some decent stats from your database

    1. I’ll second that had a few nice winners last year. I managed to get 11/1 on key player today at lingfield.

      1. I got 12/1, it was the Race of the Day selection on Geegeez.

Re the flat and angles, what about the trainers who have gone well on the all weather this winter? Such as Archie Watson.

        1. Yep good shout Andrew, Eve appears to be only heading one way and maybe after last year’s success has a few more numbers now. I’l see if I can find anything on her.
Martin- yep Archie has had a mad winter, I didn’t realise he’d been having so many winners on the sand. Clearly going places and will be interesting to watch his turf runners and see if any patterns emerge, or if we can learn anything from his winter campaign.
          Josh

        2. Andrew Mount in the Outlook has put up Archie’s horse Royal today at Southwell. First time running for Archie who I note is 6w 7p from 26 runners +23.08pts when they run first time for him.

Royal’s sire Speightstown is in front on the AW At Southwell

  2. Like the look of POETIC STEPS at lingfield 4:15
Not done great deal since winning at Carlisle last year but he has dropped back down to his winning mark and interestingly joe fanning is back in the saddle 12/1 looks generous to me.

LURE OF THE SEA 4:00 leopardstown first time outer which looks beautifully bread to take on the coming O’Brien onslaught 9/2.

  3. One tip today for 2 points – 4.45 LP Tavener, on at 7/2 BOG, won at the course yesterday and out again, 6LB penalty, course and distance winner, up in the weights but down in grade.

I ended March +5 points but am 8 points (£80) down in April so far.

  4. Interesting runner in the 6.15 kempton in the shape of Becky Sharpe 66/1 some places. Cosgrove riding for Boyle over a mile is always of interest. The only box it doesn’t tick is class. They return a respectable 33% strike rate over a mile at kempton. When you apply that to 3year old handicaps it improves to 60% win 80% place! Will to spend a few shillings to find out.
    Good luck
