Free Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats Report from Gavin Priestley HERE>>>
(opens with one click, it isn’t an email sign up etc…there is a special offer at the end for his Festival stats etc which he always gives away for a ridiculous price, and he’s even knocked off £1 just for you, if you like that sort of thing. He covers every race, does have a slightly different approach to me…and well, he’s thrown in loads of other quality content also. Plenty to get stuck into. In any case, that free report is definitely worth a read, Stumbling across his blog, via Matt B, is part of the reason I’m so into trainers/stats/race profiling/micros etc… a master of his craft )
My own stats guides are getting there. I have gone through the 10 handicaps, I need to tidy that report up, flick through a few of the bonus races, take a look at the trainers again and some of last year’s generic micros which served us well.

PLEASE NOTE…
I am training it back to Suffolk Monday afternoon/evening… I was going to head back Wednesday but have moved it forward given the weather situation. Sounds like East Anglia may be cut off from the rest of the world in the coming days! I’m off on Thursday for a family getaway to the Suffolk coast. You won’t notice much difference on section 1/test zone, nor the ‘notes’ really. I have plenty of Festival work to do, so it will be part relaxation, part work.

Spirit Of Gondree Lingfield Tuesday 16:30 1pt e/w (use Sky who are paying 4 places as long as the 9 runners all stand which is incredible value if you can)-Ran a close 6th beaten just 2 lengths over course and distance 2 starts ago which was a hot race with the 1st, 5th, 8th and 9th winning NTO and the 3rd, 7th placing since. NTO he didn’t appear to be put in the race from a coffin draw at Wolves. He now gets the services of a solid apprentice who is 2/14, 9p for the trainer in 2018 both the wins coming against the professionals and is 2/7, 3p at Lingfield. This is an amateurs race so she should find things much easier. Gets a lovely draw in 2 with most of the competition for early pace being out wider hopefully she can get her out and make all and I thought 14s with Sky (12s in general) looked huge.
Have also chucked £5 e/w on Equally Fast in the opener at Lingfield given he is very well treated, gets a trainer change, drops down into a class 6 for the first time ever, is 2/2 at the track and has won off a break however Harris has a shocking record of 60+ days break they have kept the hood on so suspect tomorrow might not be the day.
Special Wells Catterick Tuesday 16:10 1.5pt win-After looking at this race I couldn’t leave this one unbacked from a value point of view. He is the only one of the 4 who has raced in the past 2 months and both the trainers of Dica and Chain of Beacons have yet to have a winner of a 60+ day break. On top of that Dica is 12 and racing of a career high mark and Chain of Beacons is also racing of a career high mark. I think this is likely between the pick and the favourite but McCain has gone very cold recently with no winners and just one place from his last 14 runners with several fancied runners running below par. One the other hand the crack duo of Danny Cook and Sue Smith are 8/27, 17p over the past 30 days and are 9/18, 12p +22 in handicap chases at the track in the past 5 years. I am hoping Cookie can lead them all a merry dance from the front tomorrow and I don’t think he should be the outsider.
I’ll take the 20/1 2nd to keep the momentum going
Another very disappointing day today with no winners leaving us 9pts out of pocket. February has turned out to be a difficult month. Roll on March. Before then we have a few more meetings to hopefully claw back some of the losses. Lingfield and Chelmsford tomorrow. Qualifiers as follows:
Lingfield
2.00 Roundabout Magic 4/1
4.00 Betsalottie 9/2 & Attain 13/2
4.30 Galinthias 13/2
5.00 Big Amigo 6/1 & Rising Sunshine 9/2
Chelmsford
2.45 Tigerfish 13/2
3.45 Eurato 10/1
1pt win each
Good Luck.
My computer was subjected to a serious attack by cyber criminals.
Bullguard; my anti-virus programme; succumbed to the attack though it did quarantine four attacks.
On informing Bullguard that files were being removed, on following their directions to send them my Bullguard log files, I found that I was unable to do so as a block had been installed by the criminals.
Two days later the computer was subjected to a further attack where Bullguard gave no warning. I lost a great number of files including back-ups for Bullguard, Word, drivers, etc.
My conclusion was that a ‘back door’ had been created and that I needed to do a complete Windows reinstall without carrying any ‘baggage’ as I did not know where the ‘back door’ was hidden.

Support @ Bullguard, ‘Please note that you have no reasons to worry, as most probably these network attacks has been generated by different other devices from your home which are using the same network as your computer (other computer, mobile, printer etc.). Your computer protection is safe, as you hasn’t been a real attack.’
–
All my equipment is hardwired, disconnected when not in use, and I allow no ether connections of any sort in my property.
In conclusion, not only was Support @ Bullguard completely useless but their system for collecting log files infantile.
I suggest that as well as back-ups, all important files should be kept on memory sticks and not on the computer.
My laptop went down suddenly Sunday evening and a windows install is required. I back up on to the cloud and so can get my files back once the laptop comes back from its operation. Whatever security you have there seems to be a way to hack it nowadays. Keep as little as possible on a laptop.
I ditched windows 15 years ago after discovering Linux and never looked back. Cast iron security comes as standard so no need to buy into all the 3rd party software protection. Extremely stable…. never crashes and it’s open source so you can download for free. Never slows down either, another thing that used to PMO when I ran windows. A few years back I needed to install a racing database but found that they are all for windows or Mac, so now I run windows 7 in a VM evironment on a linux platform just for the database. Is very easy to setup and comes with windows 7 for free. All you have to do is keep renewing your licence agreement, again at no cost.
There’s always a way around if you look for alternatives.

Catterick off today……
can’t see much of a chance for any racing this week.
Josh i know this is nothing to do with you but it’s a bit strange, another invoice from R2P this time from another source, thought you ought to know.

Hello
Please find placed documents as requested.
Regards,
hmmm… I’ve just had that one come through, and get the odd strange bit of spam. Just don’t click any links/open them.
All the contact details for my email list are within Getresponse so unless they have been hacked, which given their size etc is highly unlikely, I’ve no idea how these people would get your email address. Clearly I email from that address so I’m never surprised when I receive such things, as it is in public domain…but fact you are receiving them is strange/of mild concern.
I mean the email isn’t from me, it is clearly from another strange address so they are not pretending to be me. Strange.
Its not an invoice from RTP? Well , mine isn’t, just a strange email from a strange source. No request to pay anything on this one and it isn’t pretending to be RTP.
