Today I gave the GF 3 horses to put in a patent. Kings Walk,Colin’s Sister and Diamond Fort, she only does lucky 15’s so patent is a foreign concept, she was in the bookies, and had it done on a lucky fifteen slip, she rang and i told her to just write it on an ordinary slip,1 euro patent and then the three horses and 7 euro in the total box,she made a complete hames of it,wrote the 3 horses down and then wrote 7 euro patent, handed in 50 euro expecting 43 change, only got 1 euro back and rang again mystified,i told her of her mistake and then began to shit myself, envisaging months of celibacy after Kings walk lost, after Colin’s Sister obliged I relaxed as she would at least have made a profit,Paddy doesn’t get many doubles up so it was almost like a weird dream when Diamond Fort cantered into the lead, from calamity averted to ecstasy,700 euro up,to top it off she won a grand on the Irish Lotto, puts my 5 euro bets in the ha’penny place
Snap..I did exactly the same on Saturday on the football. I had to go out yesterday and was in the car with the wife and I said to her I have a free bet with a bookie and I was going to use it for a yankee on the football. She said can I have the winnings to spend on new clothes? As an act of gaining favour I said yes. So I picked out Burnley at 6/1, Burton at 9/2 (I was going to the game and Millwall have been struggling to score), Barnsley 2/1 and Sheff Utd at 6/4. I picked these out quickly and Bingo, £500 for a £1 yankee. #happy Shopping.
Ah well done Martin, think we are safe for a while throwing duds and canning material.
Happy Days yourselves. Quality.
big turnround lately , but after the start i had made was always going to happen , but could do with a couple of good winners now .
3 winners out of the last 57 bets -5% s/r …losing 33.71 pts .
the phrase what a difference a day makes springs to mind after my 2 days at Wetherby, friday racing not great but a lovely day out, nice people, good laugh. saturday much better racing but packed to the seams with large groups of dickheads who all must have had colds the amount of sniffing going on in the toilets, rude aggressive drunken behaviour all around, even my son who is 30 said he wouldn’t want to do the saturday again unless we did the premier enclosure or the family bit in the middle.
Shame that Martin. Probably cos Leeds Utd were at Brentford yesterday so nothing else for the yobs to do. Normally a very pleasant day. Next meet is Wheeltappers and Shunters and a merry old time will be had by all. It’s my 60th then and had planned to go but wifey has refused a pass with some very spurious excuses so a ‘surprise’ do’s obviously arranged. At least I get to see John Mayall a couple of days before.

from all over, Scotland, Newcastle, Leeds, Donny, Barnsley it was a bit more like a stag night than a race meeting.
Sadly, it’s everywhere…no one can escape it….Some pretend that they don’t have the problem…Sorry but their liars. It’s even in the theatre… mobile fkn phones in the middle…conversations…bottles come out of the bag. Staff?. Well why does a young student earning a few bob want to try and shut them up.Naw!… White stuff everywhere.
Pig ignorance springs to mind…. And sadly…..the women are worse than the men. At one time they acted as an anchor…not now though. It’s just society as it has become.
I think that i, like a lot of others my age fought for sod all. The countrie’s wrecked.
Rant over…pour a large and let’s lose another few bob. lol.
Hi Lads, It’s often the same on many of the London courses now. With 3pm football a thing of the past winter Saturdays can often be full of yobs where once it was just those people interested in the horses. The week days are far better but alas work soils this.
You even get it of a weekday in the London area with the corporate jollies. By mid afternoon they are lagered up and the females are getting larey too! The courses need the drink money to boost low gates receipts.
Well Sunday looks to be a quiet day.
Looking at tracker horses ARKWRIST runs in the 3:15 at cork. Let’s hope he’s realised to go over and not through the fences today.
Also of note I’ve been following front running jockeys in certain race type, owner, trainer, distance and class following an article i was sent from narrowing the field. Up until now nothing has hit the exact conditions set out by the article until today. The horse in question is BAMAKO MORIVIERE 2:40 at cork the micro angle grade 1/front runner/ owned by Mrs S Ricci. Since 2013 80/127 | 63% S/R | +£34.73 BFLSP. Not a bad strike rate.it’s a shorty at 9/4 but it will be interesting to see if the stars hold up.
Well Bamako moriviere won by 16 lengths so I’ll keep my eye open for any other qualifiers.
Arkwrisht placed 4th
Hmm, odd run.. he travelled well in that, and for the first time ever jumped fairly well for him- all the way round. Looked like winner a long way out before finding nothing off the bridle. Strange on! Suspect Cork are fairly easy fences but racing him wide seemed to help – still not one to trust it seems. Maybe it will all click one day.
Just looking back on post i didn’t mention the important thing the micro a angle was on Ruby walsh.
An horse I’m quite interested in today is Castle Flames in the 2.00 Carlisle, think it still unexposed and definitely looks to be on a good mark, on his debut in NH flat race chased home an horse who is rated in the high 130s now, but it was his second run at Hexham that made him go in my tracker finishing a close third to an horse rated 125 now and in that race he looked the winner for a long way, after the race it came to light that the horse damaged a tendon which put him out of action for a long time, his 2 runs since coming back have been ok considering the injury and if he’s over the problem, definitely worth a bet, so fingers crossed for a good run.
Is David Pipe emerging from the trainer wilderness?
I think I could count on one hand the number of Pipe trained horses I backed in the last year and the winners would use up only a few digits, but there are signs of a revival this season 3-17 in last 2 weeks offers some encouragement, has fewer runners nowadays so maybe he has cleared some deadwood, will watch his 2 today with interest
I thought the portents were favourable for Mister Drifter 320C and it ‘s lived up to its name.
Hi G. Pipe and Scu were favs of mine……went down the pan for a while…but like you i’ve noticed an upturn. I hope he gets back to winning ways.

Maybe just a dead cat bounce,at the other end the Hobbs Stable is in dire form compared to what you would expect, another fav turned over today, one maybe to cut back on for the time being
