Nothing today, none at the odds really jumping out at me for purpose of the ‘notes’ anyway. Another decent 10/1 winner for those yesterday kept things ticking over, also won for S2 over jumps. Its always fun when a jumps race is effectively over after 3 fences…as soon as WK got the easy lead and pinged the first few I thought game over, esp as we knew he stayed further. A joy to watch. The ‘bet of the day’…well that was agony…I thought he was just going to sweep past but has been out-stayed in the end I think. Again it looked softer than ideal but who knows. No real excuses. He ran his race and is clearly at the more moderate end of the scale! Backing 7/1 shots at 20s/16s/12s is the way to do it long term.

Freebie…
Those of you who saw my email on Thursday (I’ll proof read the next one, that was littered with errors, awful) will have seen that Gavin Priestley has been giving away a quality freebie. It is a very good read. And his ‘Route 66’ idea is fascinating and something that gets the brain thinking. You can grab your copy HERE>>> His is one of the handful of email lists you should be on/blogs you should read, if you don’t already. Always quality content and thankfully his main approach is now quite a bit different from what I do!! 🙂 (Matt B, then himself, the founding members of the ‘trainer track stats’ approach, albeit I have long since put my own twist on it/always been very different…but without them I wouldn’t be such an anorak on that front)

Haydock Park has been abandoned
If you are with Matt, just tell him I have just done SOD. Without giving anything away its the first time I have had a bet in that type of race for years, as I always thought conventional wisdom was to steer clear of them and I am 72. Well done with the McCain horse today wchich helped. I didnt back the Burke 20/1 poke due to his poor (red gg )course stats, and after Laurens which I did on Saturday I am kicking myself Should current form override course form ???discuss
All about the odds Tony. At a certain price you can overlook plenty..albeit Burke was in red hot form before that big winner.
First info..and this is quite unprofessional… I have missed a train for the first time ever…about 1 min late for the last train back to Liverpool. Someone will put me up. Bear with me in the morning 🙂
I saw someone sleeping in the bus shelters at Euston station wearing a Liverpool beany hat and wrapped in a copy of the Daily Mail. Was it you?
haha, nope! Thankfully someone put me up for the evening! Just about to start my journey back north now, back in time to start looking at tomorrow’s cards etc. Albeit this train ticket isn’t as cheap as last nights, will need to find a winner!
Hi, My first post here and I’d like to share a little micro system and qualifier for Friday’s racing
David Pipe runners in class 4 Novice Chases over 3m to 3m 4f on good or good to firm going
17 runners 8 winners 32.33 points profit and an ROI of over 190%.
with a price stipulation of between 3/1 and 16/1 it cuts the bets down to
11 runners 4 winners 28 points profit and an ROI of 254%
Is your qualifier, Red Square Revival, 325W?
If so this is a h’cap for novices, not a novice chase.
I’d also be concerned about the deteriorating going as it was already on the soft side of good at midday and they were due some heavy rain this evening, the course reported.
Hope that helps?
Thanks Chris, yes that’s the one I was referring to.
The micro includes novice handicap chases and novice chases I believe.
Cheers Chris.. a nice little micro to put away…Thanks.
Tony Mc.
2.15 wincanton dance floor king ….one for david’s horse profiles today ?
Also Jacob has impressive S/R on Front Runners
You’ve read the same superb report from Ben A that I have! 🙂 will be sending it out to list next week. Great read. Think he used proform for that, can’t do such research in HRB.
It’s a excellent report. Some great stats in it!
General Ginger being heavily backed after 500+ day absence, interesting. Someone must know something
He has some quite handy form….but what i noticed was quite a bit of it was behind Nicholls horses
Friday nights Dundalk meeting for me means looking for a war front that will potentially improve on the surface. Red avenger seems to run every week and is now down to a workable mark in the 630, so will watch out for him. Of more interest in the same race is AoB’s Cenotaph. Was impressive in his maiden win the only time he has run at the track and has excuses lto on soft at goodwood. I thought the 4th at the curragh in class 3 type event 2 runs ago gives him a chance tonight with potential to improve back at Dundalk. 9/1 . Good luck
Jamesm- I agree he did stand out to me as well….competitive race, Hugo Palmers wouldnt be without a chance for me either!
Here’s to a Nicholls brigade spectacular in the West Country today!
Not a fan of the bloke but hope he’s gone to Wincanton on a mission today.
It’s a shame there are only 7 runners in the 2.40 Fakenham…
At 16/1 Occasionally Yours would have been a good EW bet….but only 7 runners
although it has won 6 times on the going…8 placings & 5 class wins….
Is the going still good with all the rain does anyone know?
Tony Mc
Garo De Juilly is a rogue i suspect!
A right monkey, looked winner all day long in final couple of furlongs. You wouldn’t trust that one moving forwards, will need a special ride/all those in front to fall into a hole!
somehow nicholls horses never run for me !
Perhaps he will pay you not to back them? Were you on on Orbasa in the 2.15? Ian from SP2A put it up as his only bet today.
I got 15/2 Martin on Ian’s advice…missed 8s…but a nice touch.
