4.25 Beverley. Are the two O’Meara horses ES qualifiers ?
Hi Geoff, only just seen this. O’meara is only ES with 4yo+Hc’s or with Tudhope up.
Mike
Hmm.. can someone answer that …I’m out on the road now awayou from lap top.. should be in the ES link in Key for Omeara at Beverly… cant remember what ones of his there were ES… (Mike was kind enough to send over the quals/ES today.. and he is rarely if ever wrong..)
BEVERLEY
4yo+
D O’Meara: 29 bets / 9 wins / 16 places / 31% sr / +41 SP / +52 BFSP / AE 1.98

sr / +12 SP / +15 BFSP / AE 1.34
Maybe not then !
Some punts for today – 3.25 NA Couer Tantre – Improving and a course specialist; 2.45 CH, won this last year I think and well drawn; 3.15 Bev, Take Cover, an old warrior with plenty of early speed.
Good luck
Hi Martin,re your punts for today, what’s the horse in the 2.45 CH ?
Martin, was Penwortham your fancy in the 2.45 at Chester? Cheers Tim
No, Breakable, so only one winner from the three selections. Profit though.
Very quick write ups given the late time but I like Aschcott Boy in the 14:50 at Newton Abbot. Looked a decent ew bet with all the conditions to suit. Fav won well but has gone up 10lbs and didn’t beat a lot and it was on soft ground. He is 2/2 when returning within 10 days. 4lbs below his last mark. 3/6 in class 4s. Is one of 2 front runners so should be up there. Gets on well with the jockey and in Noonan’s only ride of the day. Also like Miss Mirabeau in the 17:50 at Chelmsford. Drops in class here. Form of last race has worked out well. Fernandes is extremely underrated with a 25% strike rate this season. Prescott has used him extremely well and the two have been pretty automatic in amateur races (7/11, 9p). Of the bigger prices although the first has been well backed I think Gracious John is down to a very nice mark in the 15:20 at Chester considering he was rated 110 earlier this year and is still only 4. Has a nice draw and David Egan gets on well with him. Ground will suit and the trainer has targeted races on this card before. Lastly I thought Apphia was too big in the 14:10 at Chester. They thought enough of her to ruin her handicap mark by running her in the Group 2 Ribblesdale at Ascot where she was a creditable 5th. Since than she hasn’t had her ground. Makes her handicap debut here. Considering all the racing today it was eye catching that Gordon comes here for two rides the other being on an outsider for Jo Hughes. Trainer has said he thinks she has been crying for this sort of trip and the track . 2 of the last 3 runnings of this have been won by 3 yr olds making their debuts including the mighty Big Orange. Gets 8lbs weight for age allowance here. They put on the cheekpieces on which is a plus given Palmer had a great record with horse with first time cheekpieces particularly when JoGo is on. GL if you follow.
Ref Martin Coldwell 2.45 Chester bet the horse what won the race last year was BREAKABLE so from his write up i take it that this is the bet
Hi New to the site just browsing for the time being but very impressed with the reasoning in the comments thanks.
The Elite Squad do it again!
I did the first three and had a 15/2 winner, a 12/1 winner and a loser. This will hopefully gather more support for the Elite Squad. Long term profits are the answer and so you need to stick with these things. I did not do the others as was short of time this morning.
Josh/Guys
What a day I’ve had.
Quadriller 12/1 from 13/2 win…..ES
Panis Angelicus 18/1 ew…………TJC
Miss Sassie 8/1 win………………..ES
Thundering Blue 15/2 win……… from Nick Pullen
Powerallied 5/1win free bet from sky. backed it at Chester before and got blocked in. Revenge.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this blog I enjoy all the reads some I back some I don’t but they are still interesting. I took Josh’s advice 18 months ago and started small and that’s what I did and now the banks growing. Last summer I lost over 50% of my bank it was a bumpy ride but this year have recouped it all and more. Just sticking with it it is a long game.
Mike
Looking forward to the proper racing.
Anyone who joined the service this week would be forgiven for thinking we had found the magic money tree, knocking in big priced winners almost on a daily basis, with the jumps stats on fire at present, well at least have gotten some profit in ahead of the inivitable downturns which will happen at some stage. As mike said, its all about the long term.I always find the flat season a 4 month downward run on my bank,i tend to halve my bets apart from a few long term proven ones like Tom D at Haydock( I wrote that very quietly Tony)
Intersetingly Nicky at Bet Alchemist started a 1K-5K challenge in Oct last year,by mid March the bank had trebled to just under 3k and then hit a losing spell for 3 months, and is only now just back up again at 3k
Its a very impressive performance on the whole from just 2 days per week, trebling a betting bank in just under a year,if you had followed it from day 1 you would have been well up,if you joined in Mid March you might have bailed out before the upturn,
My advice to anyone starting out is:
1. Start small( even a small bank of 100 pounds/euro can grow quite rapidly),my
average stake last year was 2.50 but still made over 300 pts profit.I am just
starting my 3rd year of not being a mug punter,so it will be 5 this season,10
next, then 20,get rich slowly is the message!
2. Make sure its a fun hobby,if you can handle the bad days and savour the
winners and make a little profit then you have a perfect pastime(and your
other half will be happy to let you indulge your hobby, knowing the shopping
money is safe).I can still remember the change of opinion from my
mother, she was always convinced you couldn’t win at this game. That changed
when we sat down on Boxing Day to watch Royal Vacation win at 40/1
3. Be your own Tipster!
RTP will generate good profits but it will only find 15-20% winners. The other
80% are there to be mined, whether you like stats,or a form analyist.I used to
think tipsters had some sort of magic formula and would give greater
credence to someone elses opinion over my own,the angles are endless, its
just a matter of finding an edge, trial and execution.Give a man a fish he will
eat today, give him a fishing rod and he will never be hungry
