*i need to speak to the team at HRB and get some clarification on ‘horse runs that season’- as this one has had 5 runs since the Lincoln, qualifying on my ‘horse runs’ stats for trainer at the track, and it is an ES. however one of those runs was over sticks, LTO, and I don’t know if such runs were included in my research- whether the research just looks at runs on the flat/AW etc- until I clarify it is probably best to include- he is the first such qualifier who has had a jumps run and left me head scratching.

2.Any ‘Notes’ (‘bet of the day’ + any other notes)

Bet of The Day…  (test) (Flat: 6/54,20p, -5.9) (Jumps: 9/61, +26.5) (total: 15/115, +20.6)

NONE.

Nothing else to add today.

Goodwood wasn’t much fun yesterday, I think most/all of my fancies may still be running but that’s how it goes at meetings like that. Here Comes When made the videos this week worthwhile. The day looked set to be a bad one but thankfully one of the main ES quals won and Rural Celebration held on for a small EW interest at 12s as per notes. In general they were the only highlights.

As always, if you don’t have time to flick through the various horses on this page and take a view, just stick to the strategies – mainly Flat ES, they continue to tick along. There are some shortlisted horses for the two big sprint handicaps on the free post, we’ll see how they go.

3.Micro System Test Zone

None.

4.Any general messages/updates etc

PLEASE NOTE:

It’s the weekend…hurrah… and unlike Mon-Thursday I am not sat at my computer from 7-7… Not that you care for my weekend plans but I like to keep you informed… three friends from my hometown in Suffolk are on the way up for a weekend of revelry, in this great city of Liverpool. This just means that more content will be posted on the morning of racing than would be the case during the week. All of Sunday’s content may be posted Sunday morning, by 11am latest. I may get some down-time on Saturday, we shall see.  Saturday’s Goodwood/Galway notes may follow Saturday morning- you have access to those notes below.  There will not be any videos, or likely much in-depth from me. But we shall see. Hopefully my head isn’t too sore Saturday/Sunday morning 🙂 As always, i use the post heading to keep you updated as to progress… Upd1, Upd2 etc. When you read (complete) you know a post is complete…

  1. Forget watching the racing and stick to cricket haha

Just one issue with the season runs. The form compilers are all over the place with the flat. Some entries from Jan 1st while others appear to be re-starting from end of jumps and not start of flat. KD’s in the H 8.00 Taxmeifyoucan has had 5 runs since the Lincoln so technically should qualify as micro runs and ES .

    1. Ha quite.. that still remains the highlight of the day. Misplaced confidence maybe, still time.

Yep I didn’t know what to do with him.. as one of those runs was over jumps… and unlike an AW flat run, I don’t think HRB would have counted that when researching as runs this season. But I am unsure! A bit confusing. Flat/AW runs fine, just when the odd Jumps run!

  2. Yesterday I was cursing his name give the Dr tipped up Swamp Fox but nice of Barry to bring home the bacon today at 29.62 on the machine!

    1. Good lad, I was hoping you would be on, backing them systematically after all! One for Irish test angles, and the Galway- decent priced one again… I had a small nibble- did fancy the fav but he made a howler- thought it would be typical of my luck today for the bigger priced one to nab me- got 16s though, not 29.62!! Nice.

      1. I was just thinking about re-evaluating them for next time before the race particularly what to do when a) they have a fairly low SP cap given I dont have time to monitor them all and b) whether to have a max qualifiers per race and leave it out completely if more than five qualifiers. Something to ponder regardless of what happens in the next couple of days.

Ironically because a set a minimum SP cap of 4 I didn’t even lose money on the favourite.

        1. I took 4s against my better judgement, albeit way they finished in a heap makes me think he may have gone close but you have to jump and Davvy left him unsighted at one- was tanking in the right spot. That will teach me, i am poor generally when going under 9/2/6/1.. Barry G with a stormer of a ride. a 1-2 with the Martin runner, no forecast, obviously!

          1. ES qualifier to add to that as well. Thought I was going to add to wins but just got nabbed.

  3. taxmeifyoucan 8.00 hamilton park looks intresting noticed on atr stable tour keith dalgleish says big scopey sort ground dependant softish ground i think . lightly race=d fit from hurdles win last week . morning price 9-1 loks promising paul bailey

  4. In the Stewards Cup one that might be flying under the radar is Shanghai Glory. Charlie Hills wouldn’t run him in this after his terrible run at Ascot if be wasn’t showing something at home. He’s 16/1 so the bookies are not taking liberties with him.
    Any thoughts?

    1. Shanghai Glory has some good form and should like a bit of cut in the ground and could go in at a price? If you can forgive latest form?

    1. True Self looks a penalty kick; The Crafty Butcher appears well handicapped but does not get into big races and so this is its chance to collect at a Festival; Atlas on the 4.50 each way.

      Good luck

    1. Well only my take on the card,as per the video! Plenty of winners dotted around the content but none for me personally at Goodwood. I was happy with everything else.

  5. hi josh joined two days ago two bets so far two winners mountain rescue and taxmeif youcan. enjoying this experience wow
