Peter Bowen: NOTE… As I write he has had another winner at 8/1 (Forever Friend) and is clearly hitting form…he didn’t qualify as he’s had ‘too many’ handicap wins. Before he went in Bowen’s runners with 5+ handicap wins were 5/25, 13 places (inc wins) -6 SP.. AE 1.01. Maybe on reflection, given the place stats esp, they should be highlighted but it is something to note..albeit maybe missed the boat now.

ROYAL ASCOT 2017
Trainer Report: READ HERE>>>
This is what I will be using to guide me/us through the week- we shall see how we get on. I don’t really do race previews etc during RA, and nor do I go mad on the trends front – but hopefully this research helps point the way. Micro Angle qualifiers will be posted on here, plus any ‘notes’. There are some interesting angles in there I think.

Morning,
No test qualifiers for me today.
Hi,
Sunday is my day off but unfortunately I am struck down with something nasty and am stuck indoors in sunny Kent. Therefore I am having a punt. I only found one winner from my tips yesterday, Optimistic Bias 3/1>9/4, so not good.
As Josh often says you can put your own spin on micros and trends if you wish to. I have been going with Bowen and Bowen runners in June and so found the 8/1 winner yesterday plus a loser as well. I also use the Gary Moore at Goodwood angle. Today we focus on the 2.30. I like Art of Swing at 10/1 each way. I will also have savers on Milky Way 16/1 and Ban Shoof at 33/1 in case they spring a surprise.
Today I have also gone for One Drunken Night, 4.15 Go, 9/1, who Ms Kellaway thinks will go well and Fantasy Gladiator, 5.10 Not, /2, who is in good form.
I will now take a look at Josh’s thoughts on Royal Ascot. Thanks for your work on this meeting Josh.
Good luck.
Initial thoughts on the Royal Ascot micros – unsurprising to see 3 big hitters first up. However in the search for nice price winners I am drawn to messrs Ryan, Hills and Cox.
The five day meeting is a marathon and so you do need something to start with and come back to as the races roll on. Because of the quality of the meeting the bookies expect a number of favourites and so can be skinny on the FAV and maybe push out some of the less fancied? Hopefully anyway.
