  1. So how much was staked on Imperial Link to initiate the gamble? Was it not that much as it was an average Tuesday? Gambles these days dont take much money to initiate. Most bookies run scared. Praise be to Bet365 for taking money like bookmakers should. I saw Gary Wiltshire the other week. Still plying his trade at point to points. How the mighty fall. Still he knew how to take a big bet.

    1. Yea doubt it was too much – 20s+ was too big on paper. Not sure what went wrong but one of those. She was receiving the biggest % of bets for a time, out of the 3/4 highlighted in Oddschecker pie chart. She’s had an off day there sadly.

    2. Hi Martin….talking of bookies not scared to take a big wager…There was one here in Liverpool in the 60s/70s…Pat Whelan… he was fearless in taking big bets…but sadly it was his downfall, but give credit where it’s due. He would say…”i’m a bookmaker…here to take bets, not shy from them”, i think those type of bookies are long gone now….Shame though.

      BOL …..Tony Mc.

      1. Yep, I think the exchanges have played a big part in that- well in terms of standing bets/being different… that’s one of reasons I enjoyed my trip to Tabley Point To Point – no exchanges..bookies had to take an opinion,so there were wide variances in prices etc, plenty of value to be had. Great fun.

      2. Yes I know that they are worried that something is up and so will not take large bets on horses but will on football etc. I remember Crayford greyhounds in the late 70’s where one or two bookies would give you a price for a few hundred quid, John Humphreys was one. Too many fixes at Catford killed the greyhound betting ring in London.

  2. Morning Josh and all,

    Just One test qualifier

    Hamilton

    3.40 – Framley Garth (4yo+, + micro age) H3 I3 29%, 5/2+ price taken 13/2 (just missed the 7/1 that was on offer)

I’ve just taken 10’s for 5.15 – Reflation I3 with skybet also lads and Coral are offering 10’s too

20:35 Medina Sidonia is now 18’s with Betfair, B365,

    good luck all

    1. Morning Gavin, good luck! Hopefully Medina can do it for #1 albeit I never like T Easterby Drifters.. a few today look out of form, but no doubt the odd one may come back to life.

      1. I’m same really with T Easterby Drifters I done an bet each way. What’s interesting his is other runner Stormin Tom last win was this race last year, He’s 2nd in the most popular bets (26%) for the race his OR only up 1 from last years race and dropping back in class, just looking at his Ripon record 5 runner 2 win 2 placers.

        1. Yep, there is a chance he can make all also. Depends if a plan/plot… jockey bookings suggest so given RR would have had choice i think. But he did come into this race in much better form last year from a similar prep. Maybe would have liked to see more LTO, but we shall see. Sometimes best not to over-think!

  3. I can pass on a good word for Saleh, 5.55 KP, and Dutiful Son, 4.20 Wol, who fits the TTP stats.

    Good luck
