2.Any ‘Notes’ (‘bet of the day’ + any other notes)
Weather Watch: Every track across UK today appears to be expecting rain, heavy in some places. So, a bit of a guessing game on that front but may be best to assume there could be soft at most tracks come race time.
Bet of The Day… (test) (Flat: 2/19,10p, +3.8) (Jumps: 8/54, +25.5) (total: 10/73, +29.3)
Bet of The Day –
3.30 Thirsk – Pomme De Terre – 1 point win – 8/1 (Betfred) 15/2 (gen) 3rd 7/1*
*no excuses there, rain came, actually led for a long way, no excuse. Kept fighting well enough.
This one should relish the forecast rain and does need it to arrive as expected. If this has any cut come race time he seems to have a decent chance to my eye. He is 2lb below his last win which was a decent enough big field C4 sprint at York. He returned on unsuitably fast ground the last day but has come down a couple of pounds and now drops in class also, into this C5. He is 2/4 with OR 71-80, 0/5,0p 81+. So, he is now handicapped again to go well. The blinkers also return which haven’t been worn for a little while. He is 2/6,3 places in those, 0/6,0p all other headgear/no headgear. He appears to have ideal conditions here and is doing a few things differently from recent runs, namely class drop/headgear change. And he should get his ground. He looks a bet to me at those odds. The one niggle is the draw in box 1. But the stalls are in the centre today and the horse in stall 4 likes to get on with it and should toe him into the race. The yard is ticking along and with any luck he can break my mini drought.
He was the one that looked most interesting to me.
Vercingetorix is a #1 strat qual and is top rated Geegez so will be interesting how he goes. He races off 61 here with the claim and when last running on the flat turf was off 80. It is also his first try at 2 miles on the flat and there is a chance he sets the pace. He did only run yesterday over hurdles which is a concern, and didn’t run too well. But, a case could be made I think. Roman Spinner is probably worth a stab at his price- Guest is 4/10 at leicester in last 5 years with 1st time out 2 year olds, to build on the 2/4 stats in the guide, for +46 SP, which suggests the odd one goes in at a price. The yard is in form. Any drift may be a concern but this seems to be the track he targets and first time winners and over time it should add to profits no doubt.

Morning All
Back from the holiday, did get a few bets on while away but missed Wings of Eagles dam holiday lol
For my test qualifiers will be starting again tomorrow.
Results for May Only to 27th
Bet 54 Win 6 for -20.33 points
Overall Points -5.71
Going though the results there were a few unlucky seconds which would of put me in profit for the month so I’m happy to keep things has they are.
Good luck for today 🙂
Welcome back Gavin, hope you had a relaxing time. Still on a footy high no doubt.
I have come down a little still buzzing at the thought of next season 🙂 and I’ve had a nice start back with Vercingetorix winning
Roman Spinner at Leicester ran a good race considering his fat she was. One fit the notebook. Poor race though.
Ah interesting. Yep the drift suggested he wasn’t ready, which was annoying.
