Bet of The Day…
NONE today. I have had a good look at those in the 13/2+ range and nothing is leaping off the page at me. We shall see if I have got any of those wrong. My notes..
Vizier- I would not be shocked if he went closer here and he won his maiden on G/S,so may appreciate the cut, and the fav may not. The distance/stamina is a bit of an unknown, he is unexposed over it, and could well improve for it. But I think I wanted a bigger price to find out, especially on this stiff track. Tudhope is here which is clearly always a positive on O’Mearas. He also raced with a slightly awkward head carriage the last day when coming under pressure, but ran on well enough. He could come on for that last run. A case can be made, but I have left him. As I type he is being backed into 9/2, 5/1, so that makes the decision now a bit easier. He could give the fav most to think about.
Sheer Poetry/Shintori… I think you can make some sort of case for both these but I think their recent runs have been just a bit too poor. Sheer Poetry may have needed it the last day, but even so that was a poor run. It is a bit step forward to go from that to winning really, but maybe he really needed the run. Drops in class here which may help. A slight niggle that this distance may be on the short side for him also and I wasn’t sure if Jacob would have had the choice or not. Albeit Tom is 2/8,4p on trainer’s handicap hurdlers at the track. Shintori- reverts to hurdles after a couple of poor chase runs. Albeit the run two starts ago was decent until he fell, he was moving forwards at the time. He may have felt that the last day or there is a chance he doesn’t like proper fast ground. His run at NA last year over hurdles on GF saw him tailed off also. There is some GF in this ground which is a concern. But, he is lightly raced over hurdles and they remove all headgear/tongue tie now. That kind of change can help. But he isn’t in form. Another where I was on the fence a tad. He will be a#1 qual for the Inform test in any case, so is covered that way.
Martin Hill- he has a poor record with horses after a break and they usually need the run, so interesting to see how his two go.

Nothing much today. I am about to start my monthly research article for the Betting Insiders Club which you will all have access to. The focus is on Royal Ascot with the intention of finding some trainer micros/pointers. There will be the odd trends race for RA but my focus will very much be on those stats etc, as well as anything TTP throws up.
Good luck with any bets today

Morning all
After an emotional day yesterday and probably the best day I’ve had since my son was born ten years ago. Racing tuck a back seat so I didn’t do my test qualifiers, also I’m taking week off due to going on hoilday so no time to do my test, so I will start again properly next Monday.
I’ll post up May results on Monday
Good luck for today’s racing
Morning Gav.. did I miss something, what happened yesterday, if you are willing to share?
Enjoy your holiday.
Josh
Huddersfield fan?
Oh yes, of course. How could I forget. Well yes, I imagine that was rather special. Winning on penalties is always the most emotional way to win, and the most painful to lose. We will go for a beer if you travel to Anfield next season!
I will be probably going to anfield so yes to a beer or two Josh 🙂
interesting derby stat about permian, has been added to field by paying £85000, but is more than 30 years since a horse has won derby that has competed in a handicap, which permian has. for what its worth am backing WALDGEIST & VENICE BEACH each way
Get your money back on Waldgeist, wasn’t in the 5 day decs. agree with Venice Beach, a good shout.
Permian has experience of the track and has run more than the others.
