2.Any ‘Notes’ (‘bet of the day’ + any other notes)

Bet of The Day…  (test) (Flat: 2/12,9p, +10.8) (Jumps: 8/51, +28.5) (total: 10/63, +39.3)

6.00 Carlisle – Medina Sidonia – 1 point win – 8/1 – (bet365/BV) 7/1 (gen)*

*UP 9/1, hmm…market weakness, didn’t run very well!

8.15 Punch – Emigrated – 1 point win – 9/1 (general) UP 16/1 (big drift,ran poorly)

Medina Sidonia – 8/1 seems fair for a horse with a decent record over similar trips, who has placed over CD, and who may well come on from the run 10 days ago. He is 2/5,3p in C5 handicaps and is back to the mark of his last win. When he placed over CD, losing by 3 lengths, he carried 10-7 on his back, which over this trip and this hill would have taken some effort I think. In any case he had 9-10 on his back with the claim. He is generally consistent at this level over these marathon trips and if he does come on for his last run, should be in the mix. The price seemed a tad on the generous side to me. It looks an interesting little race where you could make a case for a few. The yard form would be a slight concern but Easterby fires a lot of bullets and there have been enough placed horses in recent days not for me to be put off.

Emigrated- well he ticks that box of being lightly raced/unexposed and there should be more to come in handicap hurdles. He also arrives here in form having run well LTO. That was his first run since November and they drop him back by a couple of furlongs here also. There is a chance he was just out-stayed the last day. He also gets a tongue tie on and the trainer is in better form than he has been, 2/13,3p in the last 14 days, 0/26,8p the 16 days before that. In a race which doesn’t seem to be full of quality he looks to have as good a chance as many. He also races prominently, or did do the last day.

  1. Good morning all,

Another tough but quite week only 10 bets. Results -10pts for the week (there were three 2nd places) so overall -4.86pts, hopefully things can turn around for the end of May.

    My qualifiers for today

    FLAT
    Redcar
    4.10 – Cabal (micro TJC) H3,I3,G3 24%, 3/1+ price taken 14/1(Skybet)

    Windsor
    6.55 – Perfect Quest (4yo+, + micro runs) H1, 30% 5/2+ price taken 7/2(Ladbrokes)

    Good luck for today

  2. Update… 6pm… Teak.. I can’t fail to notice he has halved in price in a matter of minutes, seems to be plenty of money around and on closer inspection I can see why… he last ran on the flat turf in October off 80, and turns up off 62 here. Could well be a very shrewd plot from Williams to get the old boy back in the winners enclosure. A chance he makes all also, with Franny now booked. I may have just had a saver at 8s, as the money still pours on. Do with that musing as you please.

    1. I heard about Teak from someone early this morning. I got on at 10/1. Nothing substantial though why it should win.

I also like Oceanus, 5.00R, on at 10/1. I hear that the stable are travelling expecting the horse to go well.

    1. Nope, moving up in class isn’t he? ran C5 LTO, C4 today, main filter for him, other than price (14/1<) is running at same class or drop in class. May still win of course, but systematically those moving up in class didn't to too well. Josh

  3. Paddy does it again 10/1 today after 10/1 yesterday, has been a real money spinner all year

    1. yep, nice for the Inform Racing ones to pick out a 10/1+ winner also! They needed that. Hopefully they may bag a few more.
