*hmmm. big of a ‘meh’ run, not awful, not brilliant. For a time I wondered if he was coming to swoop through but challenge didn’t amount to much. One to keep an eye on as Williams will find the key and when he does he will probably in pulling double.

Another big priced poke here where the market may well guide, but a case can be made and I will roll the dice. This one threatened to be quite smart with Sir Michael Stoute. He finished a running on 5th in last year’s Victoria Cup off 96. Today he runs off 86. This is the third run now for Ian Williams and his first back on turf, having had two quiet runs on the AW. Now, he may just be out of form/has regressed. He may have just hated the AW and in any case the trainer was trying to work him out. He has some ok runs on soft and always shaped as if he wanted a good test over 8f. This test may well be ideal, we shall see. This ground will be soft and that raises questions for plenty in here, including the fav and the other TTP pick. I just thought at 20s there was enough there to go on. This horse has plenty of ability somewhere and at some point his new trainer will find the key no doubt. Worth a stab.

A fairly quiet day, esp as no ratings pointers. A decent enough 2nd for yesterday’s #1 qual who was very well backed. Sadly he bumped into a rejuvenated one.

The York notes certainly did their job, especially the O’Meara angle which bagged another big priced winner. What with the success of the Chester notes, esp the Balding handicap angle, it goes to show the power of that approach. It clearly doesn’t work every meeting but can pick out the odd monster. Hopefully more to come through the season.

Blessed To Empress… a poor run. She has her own ideas about the game and can fight the rider a tad if not getting her own way. Ultimately she probably just wasn’t good enough and the ground may have been a tad too soft for her, not sure. Anyway, there will be other days for her. It is still early day.

  1. Good morning all
Hope you had a good day yesterday Josh, getting yourself on the telly well top stuff 😉

Just the one qualifier for me today

    4.15 – Lord Huntingdon (all hncps + micro TJC) 14,30, 21% 7/2+ price taken 6/1(B365)

    Good luck

    1. Morning Gavin, ah did I??! Didn’t notice the camera in front of me at all haha. Yep it was a decent day. Shame Blessed couldn’t run better- I think she just wanted to get on with it but in any case probably isn’t in the class of some of those, still early days mind. OMeara’s winner, 24/1 on Tote, made for a decent day, along with Varian’s winner also from the Dante stats. So, can’t complain. GL today.

      1. “Didn’t notice the camera” that’s what all the TV star say hahaha 😉 She was really pulling in first couple of furlongs, only her second run early days like you said, be interesting to watch how the form comes out of that race. Yeah two good winners from the stats I made a nice profit overall from them, good job on the stats once again Josh 🙂

        1. Definitely a star in the making Josh…..Very debonair…haha…You only needed a glass of champers to finish it off… just missed the RTP tee shirt.
Another good biggie on the day lad…well done.

          Tony Mc.

          1. Ha, we shall see! Oh yes I should get a RTP tie made off, and a glass of champers to top it off. Next time. Not sure we will be racing in an ITV race for a while mind. I think if we could do it again we may have just let her stride on and go for it- but then may have been same result, tiring on that ground. There were some big muscular fillies in that, compared to her anyway.

Yep pleased those meeting stats are working well- I should probably put more focus on the ‘qualifiers’ lists and look at the horses in more depth. They are making up for the rut the main flat stats are going through – they are due a massive month rather soon! But then the jumps stats were like that, some brilliant months, some awful.

Nice winner for the Kerry Lee chasers on free post also, 9s! Topped off the day well.

            Good luck today,
