NEW! Flat 2017 (test)*
2.15 Ling – Emirates Flight (14/1<) UP
*I have started to pull together a few micros for us to follow on the Flat over the summer. This report is a work in progress and I will see what I find in the next few days/into next week. For now you can read about my two ‘+60 Day’ Trainers HERE>>> These look solid and it will be exciting to see how they perform in the coming months.

PACE WINS THE RACE (TEST)
(running total: 0/3,0p, -3)
Not the best of starts so far but with any luck one or more of the following may get me on the scoreboard…
3.20 Ling – Stepper Point – 1 point win – 6/1 (gen) UP (error there, didn’t take account of softening ground. poor)
3.35 Chester- Diamonds Pour Moi – 1 point win – 11/1 (PP/BV) 10/1 (gen) UP 13/2 (well backed, poor. Going backwards when hampered)
8.15 Ripon- Mysterial – 1 point win – 6/1 (gen) UP 3/1 (got the easy lead/able to dictate. No excuse. May have done too much or probably out-stayed. Got the danger horse right 2/1>5/1)
Stepper Point – he has been in decent form and used to be fairly smart. His recent runs suggests he possesses plenty of ability still. He gets a visor on for the first time and that may spark him up some more. He didn’t run too well LTO but that can happen with sprinters and maybe he did too much or just had an off day. He is drawn one off the rail here and his chances could depend on what Edward Lewis does. I hope Dwyer gets a fast start and gets over to the rail, as if he does I can see him staying there all the way. There are some younger legs in here that may prevail but the draw/pace set up has lured me in at 6/1.
Diamonds Pour Moi – me playing in a stakes race is asking for trouble and I will no doubt get a deserved bloody nose but this one likes to get on with it usually/race prominently. Given she is drawn in 1 I hope they attempt to make all. She was in form when last seen and has a decent record fresh. This trip also threatens to bring out more and she gets 3lbs off the boys. I find it of some interest she is pitched in here. Some of the more fancied ones are drawn wide and will need a bit of luck. She may well be good enough but on only her 4th start, there should be more to come at some point. The expected shower would help her chance. Hopefully Murphy plays catch me if you can.
Mysterial- well he should definitely get the lead here and if something takes him on/is ahead of him, they will be going too quick and both their chances will be compromised. He is running well enough and I expect him to build up a lead here, slow it down at some point, and then kick for home. The is a slight stamina question but he ran well over 15f the last day and is yet to prove he doesn’t stay beyond 14f given he hasn’t tried it many times. A few in here are unproven at the trip/may need the run. The Given horse looks the main danger and may out-stay him late on. But, hopefully as they enter the final couple of furlongs he will have built up a lead/saved a bit and will plod over the line. I expect it may be an agonising last hundred yards and given how my week has gone will probably get collared on the line! Ever the optimist.

I will get some stats/trends for the Victoria Cup up at some point today.
That is all for today. Good luck with any bets.
One Response
Off to Ascot today so will try and tweet if there is a stand out in the paddock.
Date & Title: 12th May Ascot 5f Fillies Mdn
4.25 Awesome, Ertiyad, Madeline, Out Of The Flames
3.75 Angel Of The South, Charming Guest, Mrs Gallagher, Ziarah
3.5 Cardaw Lily
1.5 Comselle, Lady Alavesa
Preview – Only two here with form. Angel Of The South who bustled up Rock Of Estonia at Windsor. The third and fourth Declaration Of Love and Daddie’s Girl have both won since and form looks solid. Ziarah ran a good third to Formidable Kitt at Newmarket under hands and heels. Difficult to say which is the best form. The Hannon’s often start a nice one in this race as does Haggas.
Prior race notes
Angel Of the South – Lightly made grey filly, well-proportioned if a fraction tubular. Not looking fully tuned but seems to have plenty of speed. Slightly harder ridden than Rock Of E. 77
Date & Title: 12th May Lingfield 5f Novice
