Bet of the Day… (test: 6/18,+34 points)

NONE

Well this one has become a non-runner as I was writing, a shame really….

3.10 Font – Persaverance – 1 point win – 14/1 (general)

This one could simply be anything and having done some brief digging in my HRB account there are a fair few stats which indicate he is well worth a go. I believe he makes handicap hurdle debut here having run in some decent juvenile hurdles at top class tracks. Since 2003 Gary Moore is 13/66,25p, +27 SP with handicap hurdle debutants in C4 or 5 races, 16/1 or shorter SP. In that time he is 5/25,10p with 4 year olds. AND… 7/19,11 places at Fontwell, +18 points.

If we look at the last 5 years.. the top level stats for that ‘micro’ are 7/31,14 places… +30 SP… 3/8,7p with 4 year olds, 2/6,4p at Fontwell.

There is more than enough there, in addition to the two TTP micros he hits, for me to have a go..

(we can remember those stats for next time!)

As he is now a NR I will leave Bet of The Day.

**

Just Bobby goes for Hammond, who was responsible for a 25/1 NHF winner here for us, 50.00 BFSP, so he can fire them in at a price, on their first start.

  1. A long distance traveller, but short odds again.

Newc. 6:45 – The Sky is Blazing 10/11

    5 wins from 13 runners
    LSP -0.32 pts @ SP

  2. Quote on Just Bobby

”hopefully it will be worth the wait as four year old Black Sam Bellamy gelding Just Bobby becomes the latest recruit to carry the colours of Just Cameron’s owners, Paul and Jean Chapman.

Just Bobby is a half brother to Gordon Elliott’s 136 rated hurdler Carrig Cathal and multiple winning hurdler/chaser Award Winner, he’s ready for a run but several of his opponents have already shown that they’re very useful and we know that Just Bobby is going to have to be well above average to make an impact on his debut”

From what I’ve seen from the yard over this winter (from a pre-race comments perspective) Hammond doesn’t ever go overboard and be over-confidant. There was a fairly similar level of comment made before the last big bumper winner. So this quote can probably be taken as meaning they do believe JB can mix it in this field.

  3. The Gifford yard had 2 very nice bumper runs yesterday, the second of which (Paddy’s Poem) is very likely to be winning nice races over the next few years (as are the 2 that finished just in front) In fact Paddys got a couple of lengths behind going into the final furlong and was looking like clawing much of it back when getting the door shut on the rail and quickly eased close home.

So yard looks in form, and today’s 2 runners look to have reasonable chances with both reportedly well at home. Brown Bear looks to be the more risky and at 5-1 far too short, but Prouts Pub is a horse they’ve always rated and looks to have a lot in favour today although has to prove can handle a couple of extra furlongs. Generally 12-1 4.10 Font close to being outsider of the field and probably shouldn’t be.

  4. On a quiet racing day can I ask what is your and your knowledgeable gangs take on withdrawing money from on line accounts without incurring the wrath of the firms who penalise you by taking your BOG and restricting your bets? I am in an unusual position for me as thanks to you and Geegeez I have built up a pot with several firms and I would like to get the benefit of wasting some on food and drink but don’t want upset the status quo. Cheers lads

    1. Hi Keith,
yep unsure if any scientific way to approach this as such but I had read somewhere, I forget where, that ‘little and often’ can be best on withdrawals, never take everything out in one big go. May take out £50s say over a few weeks, and always leave a chunk in the account.
Also read somewhere that occasionally throwing £5-£10 at the casino games may help, esp in them wanting to keep you on- but not sure if that is just a load of bull!

Keeping your bets spread around will help, and not always taking best price. where the winners fall is just luck of course, but a chunk of my recent winnings have been through PP, and I have ensured that when I have bet with them in recent days they haven’t been top price- say taking 10s when say one or two others may be 12s. Or in any case not betting with them when they are top price. No doubt that Iesnare (or whatever it is called) software is on my comp somewhere and they know when I am using oddschecker etc.

unsure if a right or wrong really, or an approach that can keep you with full access. Spreading bets around will help no doubt.
      Josh

p.s in a worst case, certainly with my app, it all seems to be working fine to BFSP, which for some may end up being the only option remaining, eventually.

      1. If IESNARE is on your machine just block it. Search for “MPsnare” first, it sometimes buries itself within a flashplayer folder. If you find it delete all the folders related to MPsnare. Deleting wont stop it being re-installed on your machine but following these steps will:
Go to: Start – Run – Notepad – Right click on “notepad” and select “Run as Administrator
Within Notepad go to: File – Open
Then in the drop-down box select “All Files”
In the File Name box type: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and then press ‘Open’
Right click on “hosts” and select “Properties” from the bottom of the list
Make sure that the box next to “Read-Only” is unticked
Click “Apply” then “OK”. Now double click on “hosts”.
Copy and paste all of the below into the Notepad below the line “127.0.0.1 localhost”:

        How to check it’s worked

You can check the block has worked by going to:

        Start – Run – CMD

Then in the black box type:

        ping mpsnare.iesnare.com

The reply should come back from 127.0.0.1 and look like:

Pinging mpsnare.iesnare.com [127.0.0.1] with 32 bytes of data:

        Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
        Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
        Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
        Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

        Hope this helps!

        1. Blimey Martyn that’s a comprehensive list.
Will have to double check my pc now but as I only use flash sandieboxed for the odd streamed content I hope I’ve nothing in there. If I have I might have to re-address what I wrote earlier.
          Cheers
          Mike

      2. Sound advice from Josh as normal and will add if you use the exchanges look for the occasional money back or small loss lay/win on short odds fav using double normal stakes.

ONLY USE FIREFOX FOR BETTING if OS is windows. iesnare needs flash to do it’s dirty work and easy to totally disable flash in firefox and not possible with chrome/ IE.
If you can’t withdraw without flash activated (you will be prompted), withdraw using mobile/android tablet on the .com site not the app.

Get rid of iesnare, or anything that has a similar name ie mssnare, on your pc and whenever flash updates re-check for it.

        Mike

    2. i have just withdrawn money myself , all i did was to spread it over 3 accounts and i always leave more in than i draw out, so far so good. made the mistake of a large withdrawal from WH 3 years ago which got me banned ( back under my real name now sshhhh) 🙂

  5. Can’t recall where I read it but I saw somewhere that Itsnonofurbusiness jumped pretty poorly in his debut point but still won and set a pretty fast time in doing so. Without the obstacles in the way it’ll be interesting to see just how much speed he possesses
