FREE DAILY POST: 19/08/16 (COMPLETE)

A quiet day on Friday awaits…

NOTE: I have pulled together some stats/trends for the Ebor Handicap on Saturday for Members. There are a few pointers of interest I think. I doubt I will be tipping in the race but I will have a glance Friday afternoon.

If the weather forecasts are to be believed we could be playing that most entertaining of games over the next few days… ‘guess the going’. It looks like most turf tracks could get some form of rain from light showers through to sustained downpours.

So, it may well be a day off for me on Friday, from a ‘tipping’ perspective. Just a bit too much guesswork at this stage for me. Sandown could get up to 6mm, Salisbury could well be soft if they get everything, York may miss it or get away with it lightly but in any case there isn’t a race for me to attack on the card anyway. Bangor may only get a light shower. So, we shall see. Most is forecast in the morning, before and then during racing. Super. Hopefully Saturday will be clearer but it looks like there could be plenty of rain over the weekend also.

Yep, a quiet day today. I couldn’t find anything on the sand so will have a day off on the tipping front.

SPRINT HANDICAP TESTING ZONE

Busy Bimbo was disappointing and maybe the ground went against her- possibly predictable on my part. It was officially Good all over when I looked/tipped which was just about ok. Her best form is on good to soft but she had run well on better ground. But, with the weather set fair come race time it was good to firm, good in places. She travelled well into it but just didn’t pick up when asked. I wouldn’t have backed the winner at that price. Rock Canyon wasn’t a total shock to go close- he is good over 6f, or needs a rattling fast pace over this trip and he ran on well. He doesn’t win very often but had run a few ok races recently and may build on this. There could have been a track bias also, with Astrophysics marooned up the middle/far side. That one was well backed and could be one to watch next time. He had to do all his own work and is one for the notebook now.

TRAINERS IN FORM

A 5/1 winner yesterday from the three starting points was decent enough and hopefully some of you had a nibble.

Nothing today.

SYSTEMS TEST

Well arguably most of the systems should be moved into this section but there is a ‘qualifier’ from my recent trainers post:-

4.40 Sand: Classical Rose (16/1< guide)

I may not post them every time, or I may add a test section to the Members Forum but I will stick this one in here for now. I would use them as a guide for further analysis but up to you. The numbers are small but look solid enough given the logic, but time will tell!

I will be back in the morning.

  1. Following our recent Newcastle posts…Fastnet Blast, out of Fastnet Rock, tries tapeta for the first time on Friday (650 Wolverhampton). Best early price 5/1. Half a point for me.

  2. Hi Josh,

Very strange goings on,Roman Times 6 10 Ham,down as owned by Alan Berry,a late colour change wins easily at 14s.

As an aside did you receive my donation?

    1. Hi Dan, yep I noticed that one go in- certainly ones to watch with that yard/connections etc.

Yep- looks like you set up a £5 recurring monthly donation, if that is what you intended. Much appreciated.

  3. I been researching a Lay the Favourite method lately & signed up for a couple of free services and in the process seem to have stumbled on a little band of free tipping services [The Tip Advisor (nothing to do with Michael Wilding lol), Back Place Win, LayTips, Winning Race Tips] that actually sends out more winners than losers (at least so far more than a week now).

http://backplacewin.com/?hop=alexpeter Start off with one & you’ll get invited to another, although the Wins are a bit short & the Lays a bit long I can’t knock the results, I haven’t unsubscribed from any yet & I’ll let you know how they get on…

    1. Good Luck Mike… I don’t think I have published any stats for the Nunthorpe 🙂 – those ones are for the Ebor- Nunthorpe looks a classy race, and I think you could give chances to a good few. May all depend on what the weather does leading up to the off.

  6. Just started raining in Otley to the NW of Leeds. I reckon the rain will get to York between 1 and 1.30.
