Thanks for posting the stats Josh, Wide Inspiration for me in the Hunt Cup. The trainer seems in reasonable enough form too or not entirely out of form with the jockey getting a couple of wins lately. Fits all of my stats nicely along with Finn Class, Swift Emperor and Instant Attraction. These three have been rejected for various quibbles but I fancy pushing the boat out and making myself look like an idiot by reverse forcasting them with Wide Inspiration.
I like Wilde Inspiration too, ran a lovely race last time travelling really well until caught close home. Interesting race for stats – the last 11 winners of this race have been priced at under 10/1. Stalls 6 and 7 are the ideal berths over a mile at Thirsk but when there is a field of 18, stalls 12 and 13 are not a disadvantage so I hope WI (in 13) gets a nice run round the bend.
Just got home from work and Wilde Inspiration is 4.8 on BF …… why didn’t I back it earlier!!??….Damn!! I can’t back Finn Class for various doubts so it’ll have to be Instant Attraction now with a saver on Wilde Inspiration.
Three non runners made a small difference
Finn Class…..aaargh….. I had a small forcast so not all doom and gloom….I blame work for that!
What put you off him in the end? good shortlisting work.
I kind of guess mostly that I didn’t want to back more than two, busy day with work (lack of time as always), not looking close enough, price a little higher than I thought would win (28 on BF I believe – pass the sick bucket), soft ground (not much evidence) with a feeling he came to hand a little later on in the year. Just very keen on Wilde expectation but ended up too short so plumped for Instant Attraction, HRB trends gave me four with one non runner. Its quite difficult to mix punting and working for me! But I’m pleased with the shortlisting and went for Ribchester e/w (3rd) and Oakley Girl e/w (2nd), so not a bad day selecting even if the profit was less than ideal.
Expectation???? er…Inspiration
