Members Report: 16/12/15 (COMPLETE)

Sorry..there have been some issues with the blog recently. Appears an issue with my hosting company/server etc (all beyond me!) Anyway, they appear to be sorting them and moving my site onto a faster system. I have been trying to upload the below post for about two hours. Hopefully all fine from here on in..

No potential System Selections/Qualifiers again tomorrow.

TIPS

2.40 Ludlow

Its A Steal – 1 point win – 7/1 (Bet365/PP/888)

Handy Andy – 1/2 point EW – 25/1 (lad) 20/1 (general)

Well I have now lost the  original write up which is great.

An abbreviated version…It’s A Steal is unexposed and looks like he will improve for the step up in trip. The market suggests fitness should be fine and Williams can ready them. This time last year he dotted up in a couple of chases and there could be more to come from him this season.

Handy Andy gets the blinkers back which is the only reason I am interested, at the prices, given how he ran in them a couple of starts ago. They may not work again but quite a few in here wont handle the ground and a couple have stamina doubts. If he completes he could grab a place, or do better! Tizzard is 3/13, 5 places in handicaps here in last 5 years.

The rest have a few questions to answer. Red Devils Lad is interesting if fit (market is uneasy which may suggest he could need it) but he is progressive from a stable about to burst into life. The Pipe and King horses look interested but are a bit too inexperienced for me and face a different test here. But, they could have more to offer in this sphere and big runs would be no shock.

TODAY’S STATS

12.55 Ludlow – Huff+Puff – 14/1 (general) this is a Novice Handicap Chase and this horse has never raced in any chase. Given the yard I dont think ground or fitness will be an issue. Just a question of the obstacles/ability. Williams is 5/15, 9 places with handicap chase debutants here, no doubt targeting a track with easier fences than some. When teaming up with Treadwell in the last 14 days in handicaps she is 4/15, 6 places – seemingly continuing where she left off in November. She is 12/62, 28 places with all handicap chasers here, 3/8, 4 places when Treadwell in the saddle. Having dived into HRB Williams is 5/55 odd with handicap chasers that had never raced in a chase before. At Ludlow that figure is 1/5, 3 places. Interesting (without looking at rest of the field!)

7.10 Kempton – Lamps – 14/1 (BV) 12/1 general -Blake has a good record here with all his handicappers at this time of year but over 10f+ his stats are 6/14, 9 places. This exposed national hunt horse is a tricky customer but has only had a a handful of starts on the flat and it may well have taken a time to get up to speed for the flat game. It is interesting that Blake brings him to what be his most favoured/profitable AW track. Without looking at the opposition it says something about what they have done to date in this sphere that he is top rated!

That is all for ‘Today’s Stats.

    1. Hi Harold..yes certainly, there just have not been any qualifiers or potential qualifiers for last two days! They are the most profitable bit so far and they are not going anywhere.

    1. Well, yes! Handy Andy did go into 14s which excited me, as did the way he travelled for first circuit, before wheels fell off again. Its A Steal was backed in morning as if he was fit, and drifted near the off as if he would need it. He travelled into it well into approaching home before just plodding on.Seriously considered winner but was 9/2 this morning and I didnt know what to make of that race LTO and wondered if would lack for experience. It has been going upwards, a bit too up and down for my liking but +28 in just over 10 weeks is ok on ‘tips’ front.
