Members Report: 09/12/15 (COMPLETE)

Not too much to dwell on there sadly. Handy Andy didn’t run as expected and the only highlight was getting 5s about a 7/2 shot. He dropped away tamely and the removal of headgear clearly didnt help as hoped. I thought he would handle the ground so am not willing to use that as an excuse. Still, the shortlisting was decent – well,as decent as you can be when saying one of top 3 in market should win!! 🙂 Jack The Hedge ran well, backed into 7/1 from 11s,and looked like the winner approaching the last couple, before finding little/tiring. But, he jumped well, and hopefully I may recoup my losses on him in his next couple of starts.

Some All-Weather stats guide users had the Fife winner at Southwell (16/1>12/1) and one Jumps Stats guide user emailed me rather delighted having backed the Chris Gordon handicap hurdler at Fontwell at a rather big price – Supercilliary 25/1 SP. So, well done to anyone who had something on one or both of those! A perfect demonstration of why I put the guides together.

THE SHORTLIST

1.20 Lingfield – Forceful Appeal – 5/1 (BFSports) 9/2 (bet365)* WON 9/2

(9/2 will be the recorded price, was around for quite a time last evening, as was 4s this morning – I didnt bother trying with BFSports, as bet would have probably been rejected!)

*as of 17.00, 08/12/15

I backed this horse last time out at a decent EW price and he ran well in 3rd. He just looks like an AW Class dropper. He is 6/9, 7 places in AW C4 handicaps, opposed to 1/15, 1 place above this. He is 4/11, 5 places at Lingfield, 2/4, 3 places over CD, 4/8, 5 places when returning 16-30 days and he also looks like a money horse. 0/11, 1 place when above 8/1. 7/13, 7 places when 8/1 or shorter, 4/5, 4 places when 4/1 or shorter. He ticks all race conditions and in short I really do hope that he runs a good race! 5/1 and 9/2 is fair and I have a feeling he may be well backed, but we shall see.

Woofie – goes for Mongan who the stats suggest is generally worth following at this track. He is unexposed and while he was poor over hurdles LTO, on what he has done on the flat/AW, it really is hard to definitely say he cant win, and he is 18/1 in places. Not the worst suggestion for a interest bet, but up to you, and wont be in results! (personally I have put 1.5 points on FA, and now 1/2 on Woofie, for info)

That is all for today, nothing else really stands out for me. I did have a look at the 2.35 Leicester but it just looks too challenging. 7/8 horses could be given some sort of chance and it is full of 6-8 year olds who could well be open to improvement. There are a few stats ways in (NTD decent record with chasers – but stable slowly getting more in and out/colder) and the Bailey horse – he is 6/14, 8 places in last year with stable newcomers. This one could be anything (inc not very good)  and comes here after 600+ days. Bailey is another who is a bit hot and cold. A double figure price may have tempted me. Anyway, it looks quite open so I have left it.

Signing off 08.10

  1. Bought allweather report yesterday ,made small profit, today identified 3 bets 16-1 winner,14-1 third, and a loser ,well worth the £14.

    1. Great to hear Michael, sounds like you had a decent enough day! Not always that easy mind haha but hopefully a sign of things to come. Need to start finding a few myself!!

  2. Yes, Hugh Taylor has put it up as one of his two best bets of the day giving loads of positive facts as to why he thinks it has a good chance. His tips are ALWAYS heavily backed and in most cases fairly impossible to get his recommended price, unless it is at a big meeting with competitive racing and strong market.

  3. Hi Josh,
Not so busy for punting today. Backed Forceful @ 4.1 13.50 Wavelet 2.1. 14.35 Mucklerow probably. Might have a bet on 14.25 Ling. Saucy Minx 12.1 ew and maybe 15.35 Leics, Thatcher Gold 5.1 good luck and thanks.

  4. Cheers gents, yes he did that rather well, just whether he could get out but he didnt half fly home – nice to put one up before the great man Hugh Taylor read my blog haha!

  5. Another nice winner for the stats I think in the 2.35,continuing to deliver, wouldnt have much time for all weather but this is nice way to get into it,again well done

    1. Yes – I thought it may be a bit more competitive than that given quite a few unexposed types in there, although a couple did fall to make it easier but looks like he had plenty left. Makes 8/1 look good, as it always does when they romp home!! NTD just hit his ‘you cant really tell if they are in form or not’ phase..which will run until next Sept-Nov!!

  6. Great stuff Josh – Money only lent off last run

Shame picked up by Hugh Taylor – Keep em comin !!!
    Fantastic tipping as ever

  7. Nautical Twilight, got the nac of interest at Newcastle, nicky Richards/b harding combination on betamache in the bumper looks value at 9/2,but the standout value bet at 20/1 with bet365 is new years resolution, simon Waugh doesn’t have many runners but is 44% at newcastle

  8. The Nicky Richards Betameche has been backd all way from 9/2 to 2/1 best, probably end up fav.Happy I got the 9/2

  9. Yep good spot, regardless now of result. Keep backing 2/1 shots at 9/2 and bank balance will only go one way! Good luck

  10. For sure Josh, put 25 euro in bet365 account start of October, now stands at 250 after todays bets taken out,I only bet 1.25 on each selection and most importantly im having fun.Im part time farmer, part time community employee.living in rain sodden west of Ireland its great way to wait out the winter
