Gold Waltz’ed to victory yesterday at 6/1 and it was apparent early on that the blinkers had worked their magic, travelling strongly but in control. She is just a better horse than those and hopefully she can step forward now. We had been knocking on the door a few times and I think I would bite your hand off for 2 points profit every 5 bets, as a minimum return.
Running Total: 1/5, 2 seconds = + 2 points
At this stage I will not put restrictions on when the posts will be – they will definitely be Monday-Friday it is just whether they are at weekends as well – that will simply depend on time and if life gets in the way every now and then.
As it happens there was a stat I could not ignore today, as we travel over the Irish Sea…
Udogo 9/1 (BetV, 8/1 general) 1/2 point EW
The master trainer rarely takes in newcomers from other yards but he doesn’t half improve horses when he does. O’Brien is 3/5, 4 places in the last 5 years with stable debutants. 1/2, 2 places in the last year and 2/3, 3 places in the last two years – nothing but consistent.
This is a weak maiden and there isn’t much more I can say. There appears to be a strongly fancied fav which has made me go the safer EW option here, but we can do at those odds, and with the place SR of the stats.
This horse runs in the trainer’s wife’s colours and you would like to think he will be doing everything to get a win out of him. OBrien has strong stats at the track with a 27% win strike rate since 2009 and he is 10/41 in the last two weeks.
We shall see if he works his magic with this runner but I will assume he is fit after some time off and I think we will get a run for our money.
Thankfully this is one of those long term stats and I am sure that if today is not the day we will get out money back at some point in the future, maybe one that is more fancied in the market.
