Just a quick note that nothing grabs me on Saturday and as usual it looks rather competitive stuff. There are no big field all age handicaps with strong trends for me to get stuck into so I think I am best leaving it today. The Temple Stakes looks interesting and wide open. I have no strong views although I dont think Jack Dexter should be 18/1 and have bet £5 just for fun and an interest in the race.
Yesterday’s bets were disappointing and that is £60 I will never see again. There is nothing worse than writing a horse off as ‘having too many questions to answer’ and seeing them scoot home by a couple of lengths. Ruwaiyan had some decent placed form in the book, in big tough handicaps and I will make sure I play closer attention to that – I was a bit too swayed by how poorly he ran on his reappearance but with only 13 turf runs he was open to improvement. I have yet to watch MG’s race at Musselburgh but I was confident of a very good run so that has to go down as very disappointing.
