Re cap…
Another poor show from the Pace selection…and Pace is certainly not winning the race at the moment!! No real excuses and I was very disappointed with how poor he was but the massive drift in the market indicated that something may have been up. Anyway the race was fought out between the two other horses with a decent level of chasing experience. I dont think I would have ever picked out the winner, but then again that race summed up why I dont tend to play in those races that often.
I am much more at home with 3m+ Chases (handicap and graded) and those of you who read the pace blog, and returned to read my post on the North Yorkshire Grant National that i promised, helped yourself to a good 8/1 winner (+ a loser). Scotswell just hung on to take the spoils in what turned out to be a fantastic front running ride. I was surprised with how easily he got to the front and James Reveley won it well. I know a few of you were on and at least that helps cover a few of the recent Pace losses.
Tomorrow: NO BET
6/31= +10.5 points
There is nothing that stands out at the NH tracks where there is quite a bit of poor racing. I am going to leave the All-Weather alone for a while. I just cant handle this C5/6 rubbish. A key to betting is knowing your strengths and it is safe to say those types of races aren’t mine! Unless there is a strong ‘profile’ horse, and pace set up, I will try and leave them alone. I thought it may be easier to find ‘Pace’ bets everyday but it is proving a bit challenging at the moment. I suspect during the Flat season where there are many 5/6f sprints to take on I may be complaining that there are too many possibilities!
In the meantime I have placed my bets on the Betfair Classic Chase from Warwick on Saturday…
Hawkes Point 14/1 – 1 point win
Carruthers 8/1 – 1 point win
I will write a fuller write up later this evening or tomorrow morning and will email out as well.
UPDATE ON NEXT WEEK…
It would appear I am off on my travels again, for the final time this winter and for the foreseeable future. I am away from the 10th to the 17th. I will have access to the racing etc and I may have time in the evenings to have a look through. I will try and post everyday Mon-Friday regards any Pace selections but you are best just checking the blog daily. Once I return that will be it…indeed I have no other holidays booked this year as yet. The excitement will start to build up to the Spring festivals as well as lots of other top class racing.
