It will be quiet on here in the next few days as we get nearer to the Grand National Meeting in just over a week. I may post up some thoughts on Friday night, for Saturday’s racing. In the meantime I will be tweeting anything I am backing.
This is a funny time of year for punters as the beginning of the flat season looms on the horizon. Many horses will not have been on the race course for a few months and I will be keeping a watching brief until form settles down. I am planning to get stuck into Sprint Handicaps on the flat this year. I had a habit of picking a few nice winners in the latter half of last season so we will see how we go. I will be focusing on those, and there will not be many bets below 10/1 which will ensure there some highs and many lows!. They are the greatest puzzle of all to solve. 16+ runners, draw position, pace, form, fitness etc all bring new challenges as we move from the Jumping, which I dont mind saying is my preferred discipline.
In the meantime there is the Aintree Festival. I will be there all 3 days, and will post up selections for every day the night before. While I may not find a 50/1 winner like at Cheltenham it would be good if I could be as successful overall. In the meantime I am working on a system that I plan to launch in the very near future, which is exciting and daunting at the same time. We will see how it is received.
anyway, in the meantime happy punting!
ps. There is nothing much of interest tomorrow, although in 4.10 Chepstow, Pilgreen EW at 9/1 is interesting and worth a small interest bet in a poor race…
