Saturday…

Well, there is no stopping in this game and following a successful Cheltenham we move onto an OK Saturday card. My brain is slightly frazzled from 4+ hours research an evening for Cheltenham (winners don’t find themselves!) and I could have been more thorough with the following selections:-

2.55 Kempton

Legacy Gold 4/1 1pt WIN

4/1 is an ok price about this fast improving unexposed mare from the red hot stable of David Pipe. She will improve for this step up in trip and should be bang there at the finish. David Pipe has a couple of interesting runners at Uttoxeter and I find it interesting that Tom Scudamore (stable jockey) is riding here – he is here to win!

3.50 Uttoxeter

Sun Cloud 1pt win 7/1

Red Rocco 33/1 0.5 pt EW (4 places)

An interesting race and the kind I have done quite well in this season (admittedly normally research the race in more depth, so slight caution!) Red Rocco has a race like this in him, and he will set a strong pace form the front which can be a plus at this course. He has no weight on his back and on this slightly better ground I think he will stay better. He was out on his feet when falling last time, but if he had stayed on his feet would have finished 3rd and would be half his price here. I would hope he can at least place, which is effectively a 7/1 winner, and there is a chance he could win for a trainer who has won race before. Sun Cloud is still unexposed, and was unlucky last time. Yes the odd jumping error is a concern, but if he completes he will go very close to winning. I dont think the handicapper has caught up with him yet and he will relish conditions.

Good Luck

ps – since Boxing Day I am now about 160 points up (not all on the blog admittedly) and hopefully we can keep the run going into the final stages of the NH season. You can follow me on twitter where i try and post all my bets.
