NOTES

3.05 Hunt – Neetside – 1 point win – 10/1 (gen) UP, moving on.

Neetside looks well worth a go at 10s here having had a flick through the two above. Neetside… ran well on handicap debut LTO against the boys, in a stronger race than this, looking threatening between 2 out and 3 out. This is a weaker race and a slight drop back in trip. From memory that ground was horrid that day also. She was sent off at 20/1 which indicates she was unfancied. On this second start in a handicap (Dennis stats ok with that sort), with more experience, I expect a decent run. I say that also because the horse that finished just in front of her this day has since decimated a field at Taunton, destroyed them, and on a line through that one she is well handicapped here. Her jockey is riding well at the moment and the trainer is 5/8,7p with all runners here in the last year. At 10/1, with a ratings pointer to help (H3 – some indication that one what these have done to date) I thought well worth a go. Dennis is in decent enough form also. I expect a run for my money anyway.

** I have put a saver on Jonjo’s given handicap hurdle debut, could get an easy lead, will appreciate the step up in trip, but I think I want 8s-10s+ on handicap debutants, she has no ratings pointers, and i’ve gone for the one at bigger odds… this is one of the few tracks Jonjo does well with handicap debutants and it will be no surprise to see a better run.  At Donny he was beaten by a horse ‘fancied’ (in terms of price, relative) in the Fred Winter later today (Nube Negra). Were she 10s+ I may have tipped them both, but i’d fancy the experience (yet unexposed) Dennis horse to out-battle her. A 1-2 maybe! 🙂

  • Not much to say really. The poor run goes on. One 4/1 winner doesn’t really cut it. Nothing else for it but to trust the stats and plough on. Southwell and Wolves tomorrow. Qualifiers as follows:

    1.55 Alpha Tauri 5/1
    3.15 Florencio 10/1 & Holiday Magic 7/1

    5.15 Yorkshire Rover 12/1

    Wolves

  • I like one away from Cheltenham tomorrow:

Neetside Huntingdon Wednesday 15:05 1pt e/w- Didn’t quite get home over 2m6f LTO so the drop in trip will help. His last race looked like a hot one and the 3rd has since absolutely bolted up and the winner was backed off the boards before falling when travelling well. This race looks considerably easier. Trainer is 3/7, 4p in handicap hurdles at the track and the jockey is 1/3, 2p when riding for the trainer.

    • Oh, we agree! 🙂 10s looks well worth a go , no doubt tad bigger last night maybe? Should def get a run for money, am sure it was gluey ground the last day from memory also. Big run, and money is coming it seems.

      • You should report back on profit or loss by points when you both agree, as it seems to becoming more common lately?
