Cheltenham November Meeting

Trainer Stats/Pointers / Handicap Micros x2 : READ HERE>>>

Day 1

Micro Qualifiers (from 2x micros in report above)

None.

Trainer Notes/Pointers

The following horses are just ‘starting points’ and tick at least one of the positive pointers from the notes above. In the case of Tizzard it is a case of keeping an eye on all his runners. Use/ignore as you please…

12.40 What A Moment

1.50 – Shanahans Turn / Mick Thonic

2.25 – Finian’s Oscar / Move With The Times / William Henry

3.00 – Bertie Boru

3.35 – On The Blind Side / Vision Des Flos

Day 1 Video: This is more a ‘setting the scene’ video, to watch with a notepad and cup of tea… looking at who is in form, and then for each race.. who is in form, ‘instant expert’, speed ratings, pace..something may jump out that you wish to have a closer look at. As yet I have no strong views but there is a 3m+ handicap chase on Day 1, so that will get a going over on the Free Post. There will be some Members only trends/stats for the Greatwood hurlde, and possibly the 3pm Sat if there are any trends etc. I may add in the BetVictor Gold Cup also. I will record a similar video for Saturday.

With any luck some of you find it useful/interesting! (it’s ‘only’ 25 minutes!)

  • Poetic Rhythm looks a bit long at 7/1 3.35,maybe some of the others have room for improvement but Cheltenham will expose any frailties against battle hardened ones

  • Josh i used to run a naps competition a few years back and here’s a rough guide to the rules we used , obviously any number can be changed to suit the type of competition you want.
each player starts the month with 20pts and can nap up to 10 selections each month either 2pt win or 1pt ew
all winners will be paid to sp and the place part of an ew bet to 1/4 the odds regardless of the type of race(makes scoring easier)
each player must nap a minimum of 5 selections to qualify for that months leaderboard .
just a few idea’s for you to mull over.

    • Thanks Martin… in part it will be lead by the functionality of whatever tipping league platform I use, which is likely to be Betref as you can set up a private league, but I need to get in touch with them.

  • It does not look easy at Cheltenham, just for a change! In the 1.15 I like the enigmatic Arty Campbell at circa 20/1. He can win a race easy or jack it in but this race is so open I would have an interest each way, but not for a lot. In the 1.50 I like Un Beau Roman each way. He won this race last year and has a low weight.
I look forward to seeing William Henry take on Finians Oscar in the 2.25. I put up Cause of Causes for the Cross Country race at the Festival and so have to go with it today in the 3.00. I know Nicky Henderson rates Ontheblindside highly and so dependent on price I may have a go on it if I have any money left?

As always at Cheltenham go steady as you can lose a lot in such competitive racing. Good luck.

    • Nice Sp on Ontheblindside to give some profit on the day. He ran up that hill like a bloke after ten pints running to the burger van.

  • Zalvados 1.15
33/1 looks a bit big. 3/19 at aintree in April, mixing with experienced handicappers for the first time. May find one too good here but against an unproven field he’s worth half a point EW

  • As Geraoid and i pointed out….Pipe has turned the corner. Whatever was ailing him i think has passed….now we have to pull out his old stats…seriously.

    • Yep, have done so above for this meeting! Wasn’t touching his this morning at 6s, but 11/1 SP!! Gulp. A much more appealing price given niggles I had. Oh well. Yep safe to say they are in form. Canny bugger though, hard to read sometimes.
