Members Report: 21/03/16 (COMPLETE)

I hope you had an enjoyable Sunday/weekend and are raring to go for  the new week. Nothing tipping wise today but a few micro systems, that with any luck will help add to the pot.

Now the intensity of Cheltenham is out the way it is ‘back to normal’ from here on in. I will be writing a weekly diary post soon with updated results, a few reflections on Cheltenham, and anything else I can think to throw in. My eyes are starting to turn towards Aintree and the Flat season. I will be producing a new stats pack for the flat – one track profile per course. It will be easy to use and each track will have one trainer micro system to follow. So, you stats types have that to look forward to. I will be working on a few reports to send to Donations Club Members also – starting with Aintree. I will outline my ‘Flat Strategy’ at some point as well. So, I have plenty to get on with that I hope you find useful/interesting and that may help to make this the best blog in town! 🙂 (I am working on a redesign as well- thought a ‘live chat’ function may be interesting…)

I should also add – and this idea is early in my thinking – that I am considering adding a ‘Day Pass’ function to the blog. The ongoing success of the monthly ‘Donations Club’ has ensured that I won’t be introducing a subscription service anytime soon – and I will be fleshing out more fully the benefits of becoming a member of that ‘club’. However, I am actively considering charging for access to Saturday’s posts.(and the odd other ‘big race day’) I think something like £3-£5. That won’t be happening in the very near future but I like to keep you informed of any ideas I am considering. (of course Donations Club Members won’t have to pay for that access) Any ‘polite’ thoughts on that idea are always welcome…

For now…

STATS/ANGLES OF INTEREST

4.10 Taunt – My Brother Silvest – 11/2 – WON 7/1 – He is an interesting runner- Trainer/Jockey are 4/8 here in handicaps. This horse has dropped a long way down the handicap and is a smart enough performer at his best. Pipe is in much better form now and this horse needs Good ground – which he gets here for the first time in a while. He usually front runs also, and with no out and out front runners in the race, I hope he is sent to the front. Of course he could just be a regressive horse who is out of form. But, were he to bounce back to anything like his best, he may take some stopping here. Interesting. I have not looked at the opposition

That is all for today. Anything that catches your eye today?

Good Luck

  • Josh, may I pass on a piece of advice given to me several years ago, which has proved to be sound. If you are contemplating backing a horse trained by P Webber, take a paracetamol, sit in a darkened room for 2 minutes and the feeling will usually go away

    • Haha that has me laughing! Yes point taken! I won’t be backing the old boy Firm Order again – had everything in his favour there as far as I could tell. He may pop up somewhere but I won’t be on. I will take that advice on board for next time I am tempted to back one of his 🙂

  • Hi Josh, looked at the 4.10 race myself. Was very intrigued by my brother sly vest back on good ground but then saw nearest the pin at the foot of the weights. This has a massive weight swing with my brother slyvest based on their run in a grade 2 handicap at Worcester back in August. Seems to have changed hands now having been with shark Hanlon, dropping a massive 30lb in the rating having been run in two hunter chases. Been smashed in the betting from 12/1 to 9/2ish so value gone. Will be very interesting to see how these two runners fare however.

  • 2.50 – considering Denali Highway 7/1

Not sure I want to take on the dangerous top two in the market capable of a lot of improvement

But Denali might be good value. Drying ground, back in trip and in form Harry Skelton on board – good TJ might spark him back into life

  • Josh.
TAP TAP BOOM…………My Brother Sylvest 7/1 was 8/1 5min prior to the off. I put my bet on with Bet Victor 11/2 in the morning no B o G so missed out on a few quid. Still I put 1pt win and got back some losses from Saturday. Donation on the way next Monday as usual. Thanks.
